Department of management studies of NITC is in south campus. The entire south campus hosts about 3 departments in same block, but primarily its for MBA. Classroom facilities are really good, given the fact that its a government institute. All classrooms have ACs, projectors and quality seating arrangements. There is a small library within the department, but the size of department library is of no concern , because there exist a central library of world class quality few distance away from the campus. Hostels are good. Campus has a canteen and good wifi setup. There is a ground in south campus, but used to play there and its not that much maintained. Its a clean campus.
With respect to MBA, most of the faculties have done their PhDs from premier institutes of the country. Curriculum has been updated recently. Teaching wise, I would say its ok. There are many relevant topics covered in the coursework which can help you become job ready.
Placements in NITC as a whole is good but for MBA it still needs to be better. Placement stats are available in the department website. But mostly the median package lies around 9 lakhs per annum. Placement processes are systematic and handled carefully.
When it comes to the ROI part, I would say the MBA from NITC does offer good ROI. The fee paid per year is somewhere more than 1 lakhs (excluding the hostel and mess fees). So in total, the entire course for 2 years might cost between 3-4 lakhs. Since the placements offer good packages, more than the fee paid, the ROI part is great.
NITC is a vibe. Main campus always has something going on. When it comes to the south campus, mostly its calm and quiet, but that's because there are only few students there compared to the main campus. There is bus service from main campus to south campus. Its free and students can take it to go back and forth. From hostels however, its somewhat long but walkable distance. Teachers are good. There would be some events happening in south campus then and now. The main event is the management fest. Other than that there used to be conclaves, exhibitions etc.
Those who are looking for MBA but with low fee and in Kerala, NITC is a good option. The campus is little far from the main campus but you will get used to it. Department has active student community who are currently working to bring the MBA of NITC in limelight. Their active participation in events have started gaining attention within NITC and outside.
Our college has all the necessary facilities and equipments. The classrooms are all equiped with projectors. The central library has all the reference material you will need. There is digital library as well. Additionally each department has its own library. There is a CCC where internet and computer access is available.
I studied M.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Systems. The quality of teaching is good. The faculty keep up the standard of teaching as well as examinations. Curriculum is well fitted to equip us with modern day developments in the industry. The lab work especially is usefull in our job as well.
The quality of placement is very good. Above 90% of students were placed from our batch. The placement cell has a single offer policy, so once you are placed in a company you cannot sit for any other placement opportunities (even with higher salary packages). Also, our college was very supportive to allow all the students to pursue internship at the companies in our final year.
The course cost about 80 thousand rupees per year. The amount that we pay is just right and the exposure that we get to the companies via placement cell is commendable.
The college campus is vibrant with various cultural, and sport activities. The cultural and technical fests are very eclectic. The teachers are helping. The location is safe and there is a health centre in the campus itself for any emergencies.
The richness of NITC is described by its novel projects and innovations. These are well documented in their own libraries as well as demonstrated in various conferences and technical fests.
excellent infrastructure with separate departments for every branch, very good laboratories with great required equipment. wi-fi is available in every corner of the campus, we have large grounds for respective sports and hostels are great with good ventilation with very hygienic food mess.
I am studying chemical engineering as I am very much interested to work in petroleum sectors. Teachers are more than capable and very good at connecting and helping students while studying there with all assignments and projects. Curriculum will be up to date every year with addition of new courses and new syllabus along with the new developments in field. Our prepared curriculum includes the courses which makes us job ready
Placements are very good with around more than 150 companies. Each branch will be having good amount of companies attending with lump sum amount of salaries. Highest package offered is 48lpa for computer science engineering. average salary offered is 10lpa.
50-60k course per semester, and i feel every rupee of money i spent is worth.
College life will be filled with different club events and two fests with cultural fest ragam and technical fest tathva . students can join in any club and sport following the process
I personally enjoyed my college life with including both education and entertainment. i tried to participate in most of events that happens in our college
The clg has really good infrastructure. All departments have necessary lab facilities whenever and wherever required. The hostels facilities are Excellent. Libraries and other facilities provided to nurture the excellent minds of the future.
All the teachers are professional, experts and experienced in their respective fields. The curriculum is updated as per the current industry standards. Readings and self improvement will be encouraged
For last few years, many top performing companies are recruiting from the campus. The selected students were always top performers of the companies and many are offered high packages. Necessary training has provided and to the students as per their proficiency levels
Campus has labs where we learnt practical education and there are sportscomplexes where there are games for foot ball, basketball, swimming pool and campus has good wifi allover.Library is 24?7 throughout the year
Bachelor of technology Mechanical Engineering in National Institute of Technology Calicut is a good experience as we had exposure to labs which had inteernational machines like some from NASA and ISRo
Average package for National institute of Technology, Calicut , Mechanical Engineering is around 6 Lakhs per annum for our year but our Juniors got around 9 Lakhsper annum.Placements are Good for the fees we paid
Overall its a Value for money for the fees we spent around 7lakhs for 4 years including mess and hostel. The average package is near to it so its worth to spend money on National institute of technology,Calicut
Campus life is excellent as we were at the center of the city, with multiple attractions allover. we had campus fests, industrial exposure, peer learning and committes which make life in National Institute ofTechnology a good place
I recommend it
NIT Calicut has top-notch infrastructure. The campus has impressive buildings, modern labs, sports areas, and cafeterias. The computer centers meet our tech needs, and the libraries have a good collection of books. Though some areas lack maintenance, it doesn't affect much. The transport options make it easy to get around. As a 4th year student, I can say NIT Calicut's infrastructure is excellent for our academic and social needs.
As a 4th year B.Tech Biotechnology student at NIT Calicut, I would say the academics here are impressive. The faculty members are knowledgeable and supportive, providing quality education. The curriculum is well-structured, covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications. There's a possibility of updating the curriculum. However occasional inconsistencies in course delivery and limited elective choices can be improved. Overall, NIT Calicut's academic environment.batc.However
As a 4th year B.Tech Biotechnology student at NIT Calicut, I must admit that placements in the core sector for biotechnology students are quite limited. While the overall placement scenario at NIT Calicut is decent, the opportunities specifically tailored for biotechnology students are scarce. However, the placement cell is proactive in organizing training programs and inviting companies from related fields, increasing our chances of securing on-campus placements.
NIT Calicut offers good value for money. With an annual fee of 1.3 lakhs, the institute provides quality education, experienced faculty, well-equipped laboratories, and a vibrant campus life. Moreover, the availability of fee waivers for deserving students further enhances the affordability. NIT Calicut's reputation and alumni network also contribute to potential job prospects and overall return on investment. Considering these factors, I find NIT Calicut to be a worthwhile investment.
Student life at NIT Calicut is vibrant and fulfilling. The campus offers a perfect blend of academic and extracurricular activities. There are numerous student clubs, events, and sports facilities that keep us engaged and help build a strong sense of community. The diversity of students from different backgrounds fosters cultural exchange and learning. Hostel life is enjoyable, with supportive wardens and a friendly atmosphere. Overall, NIT Calicut provides enriching and memorable student life.
