Overall, NIT Agartala’s infrastructure is quite decent, supporting both academic and extracurricular pursuits effectively.
The academics at NIT Agartala can be considered average, with room for improvement in terms of teaching quality. While the curriculum covers essential topics, many professors tend to be less engaging and lack enthusiasm in delivering lectures, which can make learning feel monotonous at times. However, there are a few standout professors who are passionate about their subjects and make a significant impact on students with their teaching style and approach. These exceptional educators inspire deeper understanding and interest in their respective fields. Overall, while the academic experience at NIT Agartala is functional, it can be hit or miss depending on the faculty.

Overall, the campus life at NIT Agartala strikes a fine balance between academic and personal growth, providing students with numerous opportunities to hone their skills, connect with peers, and create lasting memories.
The campus is equipped with all the necessary infrastructure required. Everything is present inside the campus, e.g., a market, restaurant, shops, etc. All hostels have Wi-Fi (but it has data limitations). There is no problem of water scarcity. Canteens are good in number, as mess food is very poor and gets boring in a month. For sports, there are plenty of grounds for every game. Medical facilities are also available inside the campus but can only provide treatment for minor diseases.
The faculty is highly qualified and knowledgeable and provides us with all the materials useful in the course curriculum. Occasionally, tests, quizzes and assignments are given to check one's performance.
85.84% of students were placed. The highest package offered is INR 53 LPA, the lowest is INR 7.5 LPA, and the average is INR 8–9 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Deloitte, Paytm, Wipro, Cognizant, and Oracle. 85% of students got internships from my course. Application engineer is the top role offered.
Good college.
It has all the required infrastructure, but it is pretty old so it has few issues, hostels are also pretty clean. The sports complex is the largest in the northeast region. It has a shopping complex which has all the required items for a student
College is very liberal so academics basically depends on the student’s interest on how much they want to follow, but the facility is quite supportive. All the labs are well functional and have all the equipments.
Campus placements are not so great in this college. It depends on the branch you are enrolled in, but there are many opportunities for core and it sectors as well. But you can’t depend only on campus placements you should look off campus aswell
This college is pretty good for the money spent. Since it is a government institution the fees is very less compared to any other private institutions. And all the other expenses inside the institution are pretty reasonable
The campus life of the college is very good. There are two fests every year and many events are celebrated. The college is culturally diverse as students come from different states. Many celebrities come to the fests as chief guests
NIT Agartala has a sprawling campus with a mix of traditional and modern infrastructure. As a B.Tech student, I benefit from well-equipped classrooms, a comprehensive library, and dedicated spaces for group work and study.
The academic environment at NIT Agartala is rigorous and focused. The MBA program covers key disciplines of Engineering. The faculty is knowledgeable and brings a wealth of industry experience to the classroom
The placement is quite good at NIT Agartala but not top-notch. Placement cell is dedicated to connecting students with industry opportunities. It organizes placement drives and invites companies to the campus for recruitment.
The college has the best technology. It has a wonderful 350-acre campus with single room hostel facility. There is a language lab to develop your personality. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled to non-stop supply of knowledge. There is a knowledge centre with the latest books and journal.
The best faculty are hired in the college to teach the students. Faculty are very much supportive and guide us very well. The best thing is faculty are of great experience and will guide you throughout your life. The course is designed and implemented according to the need of the organisation. The college offers a good interactive environment among different departments. One should come here for the knowledge of course as a good life.
The name itself says about its placement. It's an institute where with hard work one can get a salary package of 30 LPA and also 3 LPA. Join here if you have a hunger to learn. Otherwise, there are many private institutes which act as a consultancy. Don't drain your money if you have a wonderful brain.
One of the best Nits
They provide very good infrastructure they have a world-class sports complex established on 366 acres and have the best infrastructure in all NITs. They have separate academic buildings for all departments with all modern facilities.
All the professors are very experienced. They will teach you from the very basics. They are always available to help you even after classes and college time. NIT Agartala focuses too much on practical learning through seminars and workshops.
Many big companies are coming to campus. And placement is growing day by day i do not know avg CTC but I can assure that it is a good. College is also too supportive in getting summer internships and final placement.
At my time fees was around 4 lakh so 50k per semester. It includes all hostel, academic and mess charges. You also get very good infrastructure and after getting final placement I can say you will be happy to spend that much money.
Campus life is too good. Professors are supportive.
Infrastructure and facilities are quite good; it has good big size labs that have a good amount of equipment in the lab. Classroom is also very good, and the library is the best. We have the central library having 1 Lakh plus books that we can access, and the canteen is also good. We have the best sports complex among all NITs.
Teachers are good; they help in our exams and management of any project, and their teaching quality is also very good. Yeah, we got so many projects to make in the practical field that helps to be industry-ready. Semester exams are quite hard; it takes time to prepare for them, and the passing percentage is 90 percent.
70% of the students got placed from my branch. The highest package is 19 LPA, the lowest package is 6.7 LPA, and the average package is 8.9 LPA. No idea about the companies that visited the campus, no idea about the internship of the students from my branch. Placements are good here.
decent teaching style
Hey Jatin:)
Thanks for reaching out!
If biotechnology at NIT Agartala is showing in the CSAB choice filling portal,it means you can select it but that doesn't always means seats are available. CSAB portal shows all branches including those with zero vacancies. However, since this branch is not listed in the PDF released by CSAB it likely means there are no vacant seats right now.
CSAB still allows you to fill such choices so that if a seat becomes available later due to someone withdrawing or reshuffling, you can still be considered for it.
Note: It's advisable to include such options but make sure to keep branches with confirmed availability higher in your list incase no vacancy opens up later.
Hope this clears your query!
That's a very specific and important question to ask during the CSAB special rounds. The discrepancy between what you see on the choice-filling portal and the official PDF document is a common point of confusion for many students.
Here's the most accurate way to understand this situation:
The information displayed on the online choice-filling portal is generally considered the most up-to-date and authoritative source for seat availability during the counseling process. While the PDF documents released by CSAB are helpful for reference and as a general guide, the live data on the portal reflects the real-time status of vacant seats.
Therefore, if NIT Agartala's Biotechnology branch is showing up as a choice available in your portal, it means there are indeed vacant seats for you to fill for that particular branch and category.
There could be several reasons for this kind of discrepancy:
Real-time updates: The online portal is dynamically updated. As students surrender their seats, withdraw from the process, or have their seat allocations canceled for various reasons, those seats become vacant and are immediately added to the available choices for the subsequent rounds. The PDF documents, on the other hand, are static. They are published at a specific point in time and might not reflect the most recent changes.
Tentative nature of PDFs: The PDF for vacant seats is often released as a "tentative seat vacancy." The document itself might even state that candidates can fill choices that are not listed in the table, further reinforcing that the online portal is the primary source of truth.
Category-specific vacancies: The PDF might show a general overview, while the online portal will show the specific seats available to you based on your category (e.g., General, OBC, SC, ST) and other criteria like state quota. A seat might be vacant in a category that wasn't mentioned in the general PDF but is open for you to apply for.
My recommendation is to trust the online choice-filling portal. If you see NIT Agartala's Biotechnology as an option, you should definitely consider adding it to your list of preferences if you are interested in that branch and college. The goal of CSAB special rounds is to fill all the remaining seats, and the online system is designed to facilitate this by showing all possible options to eligible candidates.
Yes, NIT Agartala does offer branch changes to first-year B.Tech students. The process for 2025-26 is likely to be similar to previous years, involving an online application portal, CGPA-based merit ranking, and seat availability considerations. While IIEST Shibpur may have closed its branch change option this year, NIT Agartala generally provides this opportunity.
