College has a good vibe to it. It is relatively small in size when compared to other NITs. Classrooms are satisfactory. Laboratories have the required machines and materials. Library is the best place to study in the whole college. Hostel rooms are allotted on the basis of grades. High speed WiFi is available in the campus.
Teachers are supportive of the student mass. They also comply with the students' suggestion sometimes. Every faculty has a doctorate degree in their field of expertise. Two class tests and a end sem exams constitute one semester.
Progress in placement offers is constant. Average salary is offered in the range of 4-5 LPA. More than 65% of the total students are able to grab the on-campus placement offers. Highest package was offered to students of CSE/IT department.
Institute is a good college to study in whatsoever. Classrooms are not so hygienic but are comfortable to focus in. Central library has the books related to every department as well as a reading room. Sports centre is relatively small. Boys and girls hostels are at a good distance away. WiFi is available at college and hostels.
Teachers are quite good when compared to other mediocre colleges. All of them are PhDs. They may not seem so friendly but would help you if you request them politely. Course is according to the relevant experience that need to be gained.
Highest placement was in CSE department of 32 LPA by a New York based company. Average placement offers in biotechnology is 5 LPA. It has been going good. No core companies visits the campus. Training and Placement Cell assists in the placement process at the institute.
College is situated in the city area. All the required commodities and facilities can be found near the campus. Campus spans in a area of 100 acres. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate all the students. It also has a smart board equipped besides projector. Laboratories are a little congested. Library has a nice place to study. Hostels are allotted on the basis of your academic performance. Canteen and snacks store are near the college.
Most teachers put a great deal of effort in teaching the students throughout the semester. All the faculties are PhD qualified and have research papers in their name as well. Industrial training has been made compulsory to be performed in the 2nd year of the course.
Placements of the last batch was quite good than the last year. One of the students was able to grab package of more than 10LPA. Highest package was offered to CSE and IT students of worth 32 LPA. Average package offered was 5-6 LPA.
Infrastructure is average and campus area is not very huge but only in 100 acres. Classrooms are okay in accommodating students. WiFi is free for students and is made available all day everyday. Labs are somewhat small in space. There is less development in biomedical department as it is a relatively new one at the institute. Hostels are there for boys and girls both. Canteen is clean and serves lunch and snacks.
Faculties are conscious of the academics of students. They lay strong emphasis on teaching everything from their side. Regular and bright students are given preference in most of the deals. Training and internships are crucial in the department therefore students are advised to do so.
Placements are progressing towards betterment. Placement percentage is low but not nil. Core biomedical companies or industries do not visit the campus. Some of the students get placed in on-campus placement drives while some of them opt for higher studies.
Classrooms are nice overall. Hostels are available for both boys and girls but are less in number. Labs have all the major essential equipments and reagents. Labs are a little small in size. There is one library in institute. Sports centre has been recently established. 24/7 WiFi is available at college and hostels as well.
Faculties teach well but give a lot of attention to class attendance. I am in biotechnology department of NIT Raipur. Teachers particularly emphasize on the academics of the students. Students are made to visit industries related to the field of study.
Highest placement offere at the college was 32 LPA to the students of IT/CSE department. Average placement in biotechnology department goes 5-6 LPA. 50-60% of total students get placed during the placement drives.
College campus is spread across over an area of 100 acres. Classrooms are highly spacious with projectors installed. Labs have all the essential equipments for practical work. There is one large library namely Central Library with a reading room. WiFi is available in the campus. There is a canteen and snacks store at the campus. Hostels are for both boys and girls.
Majority of teachers do not display strict demeanor. They are supportive of the students in their choices. Teaching quality remains good as long as the person wants to absorb what is being taught. Course curriculum seems relevant. Students are encouraged and pushed to do industrial training for exposure.
Placements have been increasing compared to previous years. Nearly 70% of the registered candidates are able to bag the placement offers. Highest placement offer occurred to students of IT/CSE of 32 LPA. Training & Placement Cell looks into the placement scenario.
Smart boards are new addition to the classrooms besides projectors. Sports centre is established at the campus which is small by the way. Labs have modern equipments but have the issue of space congestion. Hostels are for girls as well as boys with high speed WiFi. New canteen has been erected in place of old one.
Teachers are highly qualified and seem experienced. They put a lot of emphasis on theoretical assignments and notes. Course curriculum seems relevant right now. There are two class tests and an end semester exam in a semester.
No core companies visit the campus for biotechnology stream. All the candidates placed get package offers by non-core companies of IT. Average salary offered in Biotech was 5-6 LPA while the highest was 11 LPA.
Institute's infrastructure is good but not the best. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards along with facility of projectors. There is single library at the institute namely Central Library. Labs are relatively small in size but has almost all required reagents and apparatus. Both boys and girls are built away from each other. 24/7 WiFi is available at college as well as hostels. Canteen has been renovated recently into a more fancy one.
All the faculties are PhDs in their respective fields. They teach descriptively, going extra miles to make the students have improved knowledge focusing the subject. All of them have numerous research papers/journals published in their name.
Quality of placements is improving at least better than the previous years' records. But the flaw is that no core companies or industry visit the campus. Students get the placements in through the IT companies.
Fee is affordable at the institute for all the economic groups. Fee remission provision is present to exempt the fee of students with low income certificates.
Sports facilities are made available for every student. Students are also encouraged to participate in inter-NIT competitions.
Yes, my college has all necessary facilities for students. Our classrooms, labs, libraries all are well maintained and I'm very glad that I'm in this college. Along with all these facilities my college is very much concerned about cleanliness and food hygiene.
I'm doing Btech as I want to rule the corporate world. Our professors are highly skilled in their fields and our curriculum is well updated. We enjoy studying different subjects with practical knowledge.
Well reputed and top companies come for campus placement with high packages in my college. Top companies come here and we really have an amazing experience with them and also we learn lot many new things.
Yes for sure this college is worth the money.
Campus life here is amazing. With amazing hostel facilities and cooperative teachers and students.
I'm lucky to be part of this college.
Institute infrastructure is sober. Classrooms are good with space and projectors attached. Library is a huge house of textbooks accommodating materials of every department at the institute. High speed WiFi is available 24/7 in the campus as well as hostels. Both boys and girls hostels are established in the institute, though the number of them is short. Canteen and snacks store is built for the students and faculties alike.
Teaching quality is on par with most of the best NITs. It is the diligence of students that works wonders along with the guidance of faculties if you want to perform extraordinary. Course curriculum seems relevant to me although not so much of practical knowledge imparted.
More than 70% of the total enrolled students get placement offer during the on-campus placement drives. Companies and visiting the campus are Samsung, Wipro, Vedanta, Texas Steel, Mahindra etc. Average package offered goes around 6-7 LPA.

When choosing between Mechanical Engineering at NIT Raipur and ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) or DSAI (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) at IIIT Naya Raipur, it’s important to consider several factors, including your interests, career goals, and the long-term opportunities available in each field. Let’s break it down:
Branch Overview : Mechanical Engineering is a traditional and well-established branch. It offers a solid foundation in core engineering principles, and you can work in various industries such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and energy.
Placement Opportunities : NIT Raipur has good placement records for Mechanical Engineering, with many reputed companies recruiting for roles in design, manufacturing, production, and more. However, competition is stiff, and placements depend on the industry demand.
Long-Term Prospects : Mechanical Engineering offers long-term career stability, but the field may require advanced studies or specialized skills to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving job market.
Branch Overview : ECE and DSAI are emerging fields with a focus on modern technologies. DSAI, in particular, focuses on cutting-edge fields like machine learning, data science, AI, and big data, which have significant demand across industries.
Placement Opportunities : IIIT Naya Raipur has a strong focus on tech and research, and DSAI and ECE have a high placement rate in IT, data science, AI, and software development roles. The tech field has more rapidly growing job opportunities, and if you are inclined towards software and technology, DSAI might be a very good fit.
Long-Term Prospects : Both ECE and DSAI have excellent prospects due to the growing demand for technology professionals in industries like AI, software, and digital transformation.
Mechanical Engineering at NIT Raipur : While NIT Raipur is known for its engineering strength, companies primarily look for candidates from relevant fields like mechanical design, manufacturing, etc. If you pursue a non-tech career, like in management or sales, you might still have opportunities, but they are usually less common.
Tech Fields (ECE/DSAI) : In tech-related fields, companies are more likely to hire students without prior technical experience if they possess a strong understanding of the subject and skills like programming, problem-solving, and relevant technical knowledge. For example, a DSAI graduate can get placement in software development or AI roles even without prior industry experience, as long as they have strong technical foundations.
If you are passionate about working in traditional engineering sectors (like automotive or manufacturing), Mechanical Engineering at NIT Raipur could be the better choice.
If you are inclined toward modern technology and want to explore fields like Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Electronics , then DSAI or ECE at IIIT Naya Raipur might offer better opportunities, especially in tech-driven sectors.
Placements : Companies do hire students from non-tech fields, but tech branches like ECE and DSAI will give you a clear edge when it comes to job roles in IT, AI, and software.
Final Recommendation : If you're interested in core mechanical industries, NIT Raipur is a good choice, but if you want to dive into emerging technologies, DSAI or ECE at IIIT Naya Raipur could be a better fit.
Good luck with your decision-making!
