The Campus hostels had state-of-the-art facilities including labs and auditoriums and provided top facilities like Wi-Fi with good internet and library access. Food was also well prepared in the mess and canteen and there were multiple food courts on campus. Campus had a running hospital for medical emergencies.
The teachers are very well experienced and good at their teaching job. Classes used to be exciting and the courses provided deep insights into management world phenomena. It is very industry-ready as we use it to solve real-world case studies and perform live projects to improve our learning further. Difficulty was moderate and around 80-75% cleared exams on average.
The College will provide 100-90% placements and the highest salary package offered was above 15-20 LPA and the average salary package offered was around 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was around 4-5 LPA. Accenture, Brain, Paytm, Wipro, etc., were the premium companies visiting the campus. 95% of the students got internship offers from top companies.
The college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. All the living spaces are clean and hygienic. There are enough facilities in hostels, classrooms, sports centres and all of them are well maintained.
I am doing an integrated course in humanities and social sciences because I am really passionate about studying the society in a comprehensive way. The course also lets me focus on extra curriculars apart form academics .
Good Placement opportunities compared to other social sciences schools. Alot of opportunities to explore different fields and since its a 5 year course can get enough time to one focus and grow on their own interested fields
Worth it
Best campus life in India
The campus in national park is the best part of studying in Indian institute of technology Madras . You will get many advantages as you are studying in an Indian institute of technology campus . There are good libraries .
Faculty members in our college are highly knowledgeable and helpful . Being a part of an Indian institute of technology , they maintain high quality when it comes to the faculty . I haven't seen any of the faculty who is reluctant to answer any of our doubts at any time .
The small batch size is a blessing when it comes to placements here . Everyone is getting personal attention . Hence , they won't leave out even one without getting placed . The placements stats are available on the college website .
Being one of the prestigious college in india, the infrastructure in our college is well maintained. It has well Wi-Fi connection, classrooms, and library, besides this mess is simply excellent, sports arena are conducted every year. First aid is provided to the students and ambulance services.
About the semester exams, in this course, there is no semester type thing. Instead, we follow the term system (4 months). There are 3 terms in a year, and about the 'term end exams', some of the subjects are very difficult to pass for some of the students. Also, if you can't pass a subject, you have to repeat the entire subject in the next term; there is no system like 'back exams' like other colleges.
Around 60% of the students got placed. The average package offered was around 15 LPA, the lowest was 5 LPA and the highest package was 60 LPA. The placements would have be much better this year but because of the recession, it was bad. Top recruiting companies are P&G, Wipro, Ola etc. Around 60% students got internships on campus. Top roles offered are that of Design Trainee, Graduate Engineer Trainee, Cell and battery innovation center (R&D), Management Trainee etc.
Superb college.
The college infrastructure is quite good, but there is no hostel for the first two stages. There is no hostel accommodation for the online student. But you will enjoy a lot of it by joining the clubs and events.
so i have completed my doctorate degree in physics from here and can say that the all the faculties are so intelligent and knowledgeable .My guide is specially helped me in writing my thesis for the research.
The official data on placements is not published by IITM BS. But some sources say that students get internships at big companies and also get a handsome package. Some of the top roles that one can get from a BS in Data Science and Application are data scientist, data analyst, and many more.placement process is also easy for students.
infrastructure is awesome
The infrastructure is very good being much associated with nature with its lots of trees and animals. There are many classrooms widely spread across the institution . We can definitely enjoy a peaceful environment to study
The grading system is good. There is heavy competition between the students but at the same time we can learn a lot from our peers . The subjects are well planned and designed . The classes are not too hectic or too free .
Placements in the non core is really outstanding. The dual degree course system which allows students to change to btech to dual from the third year opens a wider opportunities the minors in the system also helps in bringing new opportunities. The core placement is good which depends on our cgpa and interest in core
The main plus of iits is it's extremely good environment to study and freedom which allows students to think freely and effectively
Indian institute of technology madras has top notch infrastructure especially for phd students here the scholars get the best available facilities of India, the laboratories computer laboratories libraries auditorium are some of features here
As a phd student the college has the top academics it follows the world class curriculum with association with advanced extracurricular activities the students here got exposure to learn and adopt with modern technology and skills
The quality of placements here are too good with almost all willing students got placements the average salary offered by multinational corporations are around 25LPA with highest placements going up to many Crores
My college that was Indian institute of technology madras Chennai Tamil Nadu India is very reputed and Good college in the world because of its infrastructure it has the tag of centre for excellence and institute of eminence from government

The placements of Indian institute of technology madras is amongst the top the college attract packages from top companies of the world especially in computer science engineering and information technology the package goes up to 10 CR per annum
As it is an IIT you can expect very huge infrastructure. Also campus is really big with hostel and alot of space , plus greenery is everywhere. Library is my most favorite having lots of books, group discussion room in library. So overall there is nothing less here for students.
I am studying BS in data science and programming. Teachers are very kind, supportive and helping nature they also focus on extra curriculum activities for the refreshment. We do get job ready by studying here and also lots of exposure too.
Quality of placements is awesome but still this year this awesomeness has been lost a little bit due to recession. Students here are exceptional so the fight for placements is between exceptional vs more exceptional so obviously more exceptional wins.
The college campus is so huge with the nature friendly surroundings . And the transportation to the college is also convenient . Our college also provides the hostel facility to the students in the college .
The college not only provides the good academics in addition to that it also helps the students in research . And in my opinion it is a very good college for the higher education . . Even though it is public institute it gives the quality education .
More than the 90 percent students are got the placed in the campus placements . The package is also high . It also provides the internship programs and the industrial projects to the students in the college .
Hello,
Yes, If you work hard and study regularly, you can definitely crack JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
IIT Madras is tough, but many students from state boards have made it with good preparation. Focus on understanding concepts well, practice lots of questions, and solve previous years’ papers.
Also, try to join a good coaching or online classes if possible. Believe in yourself and stay consistent. You have a good chance!
Hope it helps !
With a preparatory rank of 3935, your chances of getting a seat at IIT Madras are unlikely. While a preparatory rank can sometimes lead to admission in less competitive IITs or specific courses, 3935 is a high rank within the preparatory category, and IIT Madras is one of the most sought-after IITs.
Preparatory Courses:
IITs offer preparatory courses for SC, ST, and PwD students who didn't qualify for regular IIT programs but have a qualifying rank in JEE Advanced.
Limited Seats:
The number of seats in preparatory courses is limited, and the competition for these seats can be high, especially for the most prestigious IITs.
Rank Significance:
A rank of 3935 within the preparatory category means you're among the lower-ranked candidates within that group, and IIT Madras is highly selective even within the preparatory program.
Factors Influencing Admission:
Besides rank, other factors like category, branch preferences, and the specific IIT's admission policies can influence seat allocation.
Alternative Options:
If you don't get a seat at IIT Madras, explore other IITs with more lenient admission criteria or consider NITs or other engineering colleges where you might have better chances.
Hello Aspirant,
If you get admitted into the B.S. program at IIT Madras this year and this year happens to be your first JEE Advanced attempt, then yes, you will remain eligible to take JEE Advanced again next year if you satisfy the other eligibility norms laid down by the conducting authorities of the exam. The important thing is that the candidate gets two chances at JEE Advanced at the most, and these chances have to come within two successive years from the year when they first appeared for the test. Since you are trying for the first time, you have one chance remaining for the next year.
But once you are admitted into an IIT undergraduate course, you cannot sit for JEE Advanced again to get into the same course. But if you are interested in a different course or a double degree (such as B.Tech + M.Tech), you may want to look up the particular rules from the JEE Advanced official website or the IITs.
