IIT Kanpur Reviews on Infrastructure, Campus, Placement, Facilities & Faculty

This campus is spread over 2,000 acres and is lush green. High-quality education and world-class infrastructure are provided with all modern facilities. There are sports facilities like many basketball courts and tennis. Our college also has an open-air theatre, airstrip, air tunnel and many others with good fee structure

The course is good and very useful and helpful. Faculty members are also helpful. They are very knowledgeable and professional and are from reputed universities from outside India. Many lab sessions are conducted which provide lots of exposure and also make students feel comfortable. There is a excellent coding culture. There is a relative grading system.

Top companies like Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, tcs etc., visit here for placements. There are enough and excellent options and better salary packages. You will have a nice chance to go abroad. Many companies put a minimum CPI criterion followed by tests, and good internships are also provided.

There are a total of 23 halls on our campus. Hall 10 and 13 are the most recent halls, which are constructed just 2-3 years back. 2 new halls, i.e., Hall 16 and 17 are under construction now. Food quality is mainly managed by the students and quality was excellent. For sports and games, each hall has a separate sports ground and equipment.

The teachers are highly professional, and the scope of research in your field of interest is very excellent For completion of degree, a student has to take around 490-510 credits in their entire 4 years. There are also a few compulsory courses, which you have to select from other departments' curriculum.

More than 390 companies, ranging from Google, Microsoft, BCG, McKinsey, ITC to foreign companies like Rubrick, visited our campus last year, out of which around 300 companies were software companies. Around 100 companies were for data science, and the rest were for consultancy and FMCG top mncs like Accenture

National wind tunnel facility, a few planes, airstrip, high-speed and low-speed aerodynamics lab, structures lab, computational lab, etc. are available. Food is excellent in the mess and cheap. Food outlets are open 24x7 on-campus. Wi-Fi is available at 700 Mbps. Hostels are clean. Laundry and dhobi facilities are available in the hostel

The professors here are very knowledgeable and talented. They have done their masters and PhD from reputed foreign universities. The teaching quality of most of the professors outstanding . The academics at IIT Kanpur are a hardly tough. However, if students attend classes regularly, they can easily maintain a good CGPA.

Most of the students who attend placements from the electrical engineering branch get placed, while the remaining students aim to opt for either graduation schools, startups or other competitive exams like UPSC, civils etc. The highest salary package offered is 89 LPA (domestic), while the average salary package offered is around 25 LPA-27 LPA. During internship and placement season, students from CSE, EE and MTH get preference over other students. Software development engineering (SDE) and finance and quant (high-frequency trading) were the top roles offered here.

High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The lecture halls are big and spacious, with large screens for the professors to use to teach. The library is the go-to place to study before major exams and quizzes and is well-equipped with all the resources. Hostels are decent except for plumbing issues in some areas. Sports facilities are also provided inside the residential halls.good infrastructure

Teachers are highly qualified and very enthusiastic to help. Teaching is only good beneficial if students put in their hours outside of class to study, as academics are a bit rigorous. The course curriculum is highly relevant and makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are quite hectic and depend on the nature of the specific course.

More than 90% of the students sitting for placements get placed in Phase I and it increases to 97–99% till the last phase. The highest package offered for placement season 2023-2024 was 1.37 crores and the average is 26.27 LPA. In my course, people target different roles such as SDE (software development engineer), investment banking, and core job roles. About 80% of people from my course got internships at companies such as Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Amazon, and Google. Good mncs

As one of the oldest Indian Institutes of Technology's (IIT's), it has good facilities and infrastructure available for any course that has been chosen. The facilities of the hostel and mess are also good and well maintained. The quality of the food is also good, but one who is not used to the north Indian style of food may find it difficult, like me.where it was far way

Here, the faculty, including teaching staff and non-teaching staff, are helpful and supportive. The teachers have plenty of knowledge and experience. They teach in a very good manner, encourage students to ask questions and help them understand the concept in a different way.friendly manner

Over 80 percent of total students were placed. The highest package is around 1.8crore rupees, and the lowest is around 12 lakhs per annum. The average package is 15 lacs per year. Some of the top recruiters are Goldman Sachs, Reliance, ICICI Bank, Samsung, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, good mnc companies

The infrastructure in IIT is world class. Library is open till midnight, students lounge is available till 5:00 AM and new core lab is opened till 8:00 AM where students are provided with computers. M.Tech students are provided with their separate labs.seprate labs not to disturb other streams

M.Tech students have course work in their first year only and in the second year of the course, they just have their thesis work to do. They are given stipend of 14000 per month. In the duration of two years they are provided with opportunities of attending conferences on national and international levels.other activities are provided

The students in M.Tech usually don't apply for the core companies. They apply in Tech companies and companies prefer B.Tech students over M.Tech students. Out of all the students only 3 students got placed in this placement season in which the highest package was 23 Lacs and the lowest was 9 Lacs.having high placements and good mnc companies

The course structure is designed in a way that makes us industry-ready. We have data sciences labs, R programming, Java, and C languages in our course. The infrastructure in IITs is designed in a way that students get all their basic needs completed on campus itself. The sports grounds for all sports are available.very good infrastructure

The curriculum is designed in such a way that we get practical knowledge with theory. Regular lab sessions are taken by the teachers in which we gain industry work experience. The exams are not very easy, so one may not pass with just one night of studying. We have four-month semesters in which weekends are off, so we have to cover a huge syllabus in a short period of time, which increases the difficulty level.faculty are in friendly manner

We are a batch of 80 students, out of whom 26 are placed this year in roles such as data analyst, data scientist, and finance, with the highest package of 35 LPA. IIT Kanpur has the record of 100 percent placement in the Statistics department last year. Students who got internship opportunities in summers received PPOs.very good placement are available

For the CSE department, there is a separate building in IIT Kanpur where only CSE students can sit. In the building, there are around 180 desktops with i5 processors and 12th generation, and the labs are fabulous for my department. The quality of hostels is good, but only in the first year. After the first year, you will find that Hall 12 is good; other halls are not, and in Hall 12, you will find a single room after the first year but not others. But the quality of food after 1st is average and tested also.

Most teachers are helpful, but not all teachers, although they are well qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is excellent , but yes, only a few teachers. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are literally tough, not easy. If you are at IIT Kanpur, then you have to study in any case.

In my department, the placements are very good, with around 95 to 98% of students placed, and the average package is around 40 LPA, with the highest being 3.2 crore, which is international. The top recruiting companies are Texas Instruments, Optiver, Quadeye, Rubrik, Tower Research, Google, Microsoft, etc. Internships are also excellent; around 90% of students get an internship every year, and the same companies come for internships as I have written down above. The top roles are HFT and SDE.

The campus is well spread over 1100 acres providing hightech facilites in all aspects whether it's Library, Sports complex, Computer Centre, RM building, Open Air Theatre, Skywalk, Student Lounge, Shopping Centre, Health Centre, Mam Mio, Big green Hostels, Laboratories etc. All are just amazing and super modern. It's upto you hpw much you explore and how you balance.

Our college provides the best faculty members. Most of them are graduated from foreign universities. They are knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant to make students ready for the industry. Semester exams are tough. Evaluation of exam papers is very hard. If we study hard, we can easily score good marks.

IIT Kanpur has a very good placement offer. In my branch, it was around 90%, and the overall average package was also around INR 20 LPA. Internships are offered to various students, and they do perform well. Recruitment mainly involved alumni, so there was no problem with placement.

Good college.

In my intermediate, I want to take admission in this college by seeing its infrastructure, but it is beyond than that. Our college has excellent buildings and good lab facilities. There is a good playground. I am advising my juniors that take this college infrastructure as a minimum benchmark.

The course curriculum is excellent, and it is more useful in present life situations. Faculty members in our college are very friendly. They will explain our doubts many times with so much of patience. The administration department is very polite with students

Placements for our seniors were very good. Highly reputed companies visited our college and recruited our seniors with reasonable packages. The highest salary package offered is 18 LPA.They are going to offer many companies
