It is one of the the top 5 college in India in terms of infrastructure. It is beside has lot of high tech equipments. The food they provide are very hygienic and gives us lot of mess options, which we can change each month. The only drawback here is wifi, the speed is very slow. If your room is close to router,it is heaven for you.The libraries and sports center are excellent and provide good services. Laboratories are open all time and you can access all the equipments with the staffs.
The process are very well in terms of knowledge, but in terms of delivering they are not so. They have to improve their teaching skills rater that doing research. The professors are not partial and gives space to each student's. The curriculum is very much updated and very well designed.Unlike other colleges class hours is very less, which gives students to explore their talent in their own field
Once a student gets admission in NITT,he/she bound to get a good job, which will bring a sense of joy and satisfaction after working hard for 4 years.NITT makes sure that hardworking student doesn't go empty handed and disappointed, with plenty of companies from diverse background offering jobs.I will proudly tell the placement rate is 100% and many will go for highers as well. average salary will be around 8-9LPA.The placement is a easy process, the effort we put won't go priceless.
The cost we pay for this institute is very less compared to other NIT's. Even IIT's are paying more fees than others. You will get all the benifits like hospital, insuranse if any medical issues, quality mess food, sports center, libraries and we'll packed laboratories. It also gives various free access for students like MS-Office,Notion etc.
It is best to explore in and out of campus. There is no restrictions for male students. You can roam around with your friends for night walk or movie. The location of college is in village side,so it takes around 1hour to go to city, which is a drawback. But because of its interior location,it gives us radiation less and diverse environment. We have hospitals, provision stores inside which is accest 24/7. The place is very hot, which makes difficult to survive in summer. The cycle is must in campus.
I took to purse chemical engineering just for sake and not because of interest.I want to purse my career in the field of Mathematics, but I wasn't able to get it into after my failure in JEE. I took this course just because of the brand 'NITT',which gives me base opportunity to explore my academic life as well as student life. This brand gives me a identity which other private institute can't offer.Thats the reason why I choose NITT, even when I got offer good branches from other institute.
NITT has a campus infrastructure that very few institutions can match in terms of sheer size and facilities. It is self-contained for all if its requirements. Every conceivable need of students and faculty are taken care of.
The curriculum stays up-to-date. At the end of the course you will be made competent in the international platform (well, at least I do). It becomes imperial to mention about the flexible curriculum system - it does work great!
It is one of the finest colleges in India. But, I would say the placements are departmental based. If I should talk about my department (material science), I would say that I have a mixed opinion. There are lot of factors that affect placements, so we cant blame the institution.
The college have all the necessary infrastructure. DoMS NITT has spacious classrooms with good infrastructure accompanied by a small lawn inside the campus. The Cycle parking place is also good. The hostels are maintained regularly and have a WIFI facility for 24*7. OCTA is a computer facility center available 24*7 for students. All sports amenities are available inside the campus. The campus also have a swimming pool. The food is hygienic and we get option to select our mess every month .
The quality of teaching is good. There are case study presentations every now and then to enrich the skill set of students. MBAs have a trimester pattern and students' activities are monitored continuously to ensure their growth and progress in their skills.
The placements are decent and give a good Return on Investment. There are various companies from different domains like Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, operations, Analytics that come for recruitment in DoMS NITT.
The ROI is high when compared to other colleges. Comparing other B schools the fee is very low. te total fee for two years along with the hostel would cost around 4.2 lakhs. There may be a slight change every year. The value we get from NITT is worth the money.
The best part is the campus life. The Campus have less restrictions and curfews compared to other colleges. The peer group and cultural mix is the special ingredient for the happy campus life of NITT.
This College has all the necessary infrastructure and various facilities inside tha campus. In college , individual classrooms has well air ventilated space and should been maintaining a good discipline inside the classrooms. In hostel , they are providing good hygienic food. And also living spaces are very good ,clean and neat.
I am studying B.tech Civil Engineering. I am aiming to hire in a well known IT industry. The quality of teaching is very Fabulous and easy to understand. Also My curriculum has updated and developed a lot. It is also very helpful for get into a job ready.
The quality of placement at my college is very simple, good and easy to process. Most of the students (90%) were placed in a popular company with high salary package of average about 19,000/month. The placement will be fully supported in our college.
The infrastructure is good. All classrooms in LHC can occupy 70+ . All labs are well equipped with good equipments . Some with sophisticated state of the art facilities. Hostel are fully WiFi equipped. Mess and hostel facility are good. Most professors are good. The library is also good with plethora of books ,magazines and journals. The computer centre ( Octagon ) is open 24*7 and is of great help to students.
I am a chemical engineering student. The professors are good and are highly experienced and you can approach them anytime and they are always there tohelp . The curriculum is revised regularly. This department is in the Top 10 Chemical Engineering department in India.
As of placement I am not much aware as I am still in my first year but from seniors and college website it's clear that the department has almost 100% placement. And average salary package is 6-7lakhs I guess.
Though NIT is under the MHRD for nationally recognised institution. If you don't have any reservation the fees is somewhat high. The tution fees per sem is around 70000 INR and hostel and mess fees around 35000INR. For the money paid the facilities are average but surely not a waste. If your family income is above 5lakh and you are from general category you have to pay somewhat premium fees.
The campus stretches to about 800 acres. Being one of the largest campuses in India. It has a lot of clubs making students engaged and it's near to National Highway with airport and railway station within 30Km. All kinds of sports and games are available and a hospital is present inside the campus. The students, teachers and staff are friendly and supportive. It's a miniature India where you can find people from almost all places . Even from other countries.
The college provides the right arena for you to shine. If you don't get into a IIT don't feel bad. NIT Trichy is not a bad option at all . We are the only NIT in Top 10 ranking in engineering category by NIRF and in top 25 in overall category. We've been into PMRF( Prime minister's research fellowship) and national supercomputing mission. Hope to see you here.
We have various student run fests like Festember,NITTFEST,symposiums of different departments like vortex of CSE,sportsfete, pragyaan. Campus facilities are really well maintained. Facilities like octa,NSO ground really help students.
Although professors are well versed in their respective subjects some of them fail to communicate with us, they fail at explaining subject to us. But some professors are really outstanding and help a lot.
The placement for Chemical Engineering department of NIT Trichy well known and better than some of IIT's. We had 100% placement last year. Although I have not had a chance to interact with placement cell I heard it's really nice.
There are every facility a student can look for in a institution. Entertainment wise it is lacking as it is located far away from the city. But it is sufficient for college life and there are no worries regarding it.
Studying EEE cause that was allotted by NTA. Curriculum is updated but the teaching has a lot of quality improvement to do. Being job ready would require the student to take extra courses from the outside.
I have no idea about the placements as I’m still doing my graduation. The placements from what I have heard are doing a decent job with the highest salary package being 12L per annum. A lot of important companies come every year for placement interview.
Yes. The course is worth for the money.
Most of the land is barren and and there a lots of poisonous insects. Also the wifi facility inside the hostels is not up to the mark. The gym inside the canpus is also too small. The food has basically got a a south indian so it takes time to cope up with who are not habitual to it
Professors are quite intellectual and incorrigible in their respective fields but are unable to maintain teacher student relationship.Main focus is given to assignments and assessments rather than teaching in an interactive way
As it comes under top 10 engineering institute of India...the reason behind this is totally because of it's high reputation for placement. From last two there has been a 100% placement in CS and CL branch.
The hostels are not properly build up and the quality of food is not up to the mark especially for the north indians who take ample time to adjust with their diet
There are plenty of fests being organised nearly in two months so it just helps to swing our moods
Yeah the college has all the required equipments for detailed study of courses. The laboratories are quite old but has all the necessary equipments. Sports center hosts all the sports . The wifi is quite good in the hostels.
I'm studying B.Tech in Mettalurgy. The professors are quite experienced with their own stuffs. The curriculum is updated frequently and it ws updated a year ago , recently. The scope of Mettalurgy isn't that good in india unless you specialize in some domain.
Mettalurgy department doesn't have that much good placements as compared to other good departments such as Chemical and Mechanical , considering non core branches. The average salary isn't that much high and all .
I feel that it is value for money since the fee is very less in government institutions after all.
One of the best parts. A student has wide range of opportunities to take part in various domains .The location is quite safe and it has a hospital with 24/7 facilities.
Yes the college has all necessary equipment . Everything is well maintained .Yes there are wifi smartboards etc in classes.Living spaces are clean and food is hygienic .Good restraunts are there in college.
Yes curriculum is updated .I took chemical engineering because my passion is in chemical sector.I love petrol and oil and want to make the world a better place to live in.So I feel chemical engineering is important.
Yes placements are very good.We have a separate placement cell where all decisions are done.Several seniors have told that placements are good in all departments and they get satisfactory packages. Do its good
Yes very good value for money. My course costed 1 lakh per year .This is also affordable with loan. This makes this course very good and it's a very good investment.I would personally suggest this college to many people
Yes very good campus life .We have many clubs organisations and student activities.Even festivals like holi ganesh chaturthi are celebrated and there are grand celebrations to ensure that everyone feels welcome.
Nothing much to add .Overall very good college. The academics and college infrastructure makes this college very home like to everyone.People can meet everyone from different faces of life which makes them Remember thier time in college
Hello there,
Both NIT Trichy and IIIT Bangalore are excellent institutes, but they have different strengths. Here's a clear comparison to help you decide:
Choose NIT Trichy (ECE) if:
You prefer a well-rounded engineering institute with a strong alumni network.
Your son may consider government or PSU jobs or core ECE roles .
He wants to participate in vibrant campus life, clubs, and fests .
You value a
top-tier NIT tag
, which is highly recognized across India.
Choose IIIT Bangalore (ECE/Data Science) if:
Your son is
very focused on IT, data science, AI/ML
, or
software roles
, even with an ECE tag.
He is interested in
research or higher studies
, as IIIT-B has strong faculty and research culture.
You prefer a
tech-focused environment
with fewer distractions.
You are okay with
limited campus life
(as it's a PG-oriented institute with no large undergraduate culture).
Final Suggestion:
If your son wants a balance of core ECE and IT opportunities with a strong brand and campus life , go for NIT Trichy .
If he's 100% focused on tech/software careers and doesn't mind a smaller UG crowd , IIIT Bangalore is also a great option.
Since financial affordability is not an issue, choose based on career goal alignment and campus culture preference .
