Established in 2008, the Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur is a part of the prestigious IITs - the hallmark of quality technology education within the country and globally. The institute came into being by an Act of Parliament, the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2012. The campus of the college covers an area of 852 acres and there are 103 faculty members and 59 staff members at IIT Jodhpur.  Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur ranked 43rd under the NIRF Ranking 2021. The college has a total of 11 academic departments that offer different courses. A total of 61 courses are offered by the institute at UG, PG and doctoral levels. 

IIT Jodhpur ensures that its programmes' curriculum is in line with the latest industry standards. Apart from its academic departments, it has two schools, namely the School of Management and Entrepreneurship and the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. • Programming Club: The club allows students with the opportunity to learn good and fast code. It is responsible for conducting numerous coding events at the campus.

It offers multiple programmes at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. The institute also has two dual degree programmes at the master’s level. IIT Jopdhur courses are offered in full-time mode. The institute offers a total of 61 courses. Some of the IIT Jodhpur courses are B.Tech, M.Tech., M.B.A., M.Sc., Ph.D etc. The duration of B.Tech courses is 4 years. At the postgraduate level, M.Sc., M.B.A. and M.Tech. courses are of 2 years duration.

IIT Jodhpur Admission

Each IIT Jodhpur programme has a unique set of admission steps that candidates must follow to secure their seat at the institute. IIT Jodhpur admissions are offered based on entrance exam. Candidates need to have a valid JEE Advanced scorecard for B.Tech admission. Candidates need to have an IIT-JAM (Joint Admission Test for Master’s) score for getting enrolled in the M.Sc. programme at IIT Jodhpur. Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur Scholarship

The college offers merit-based, means-based, merit-cum-means-based, corporate, and government-approved scholarship schemes. The Office of Students at the institute takes the responsibility of motivating and informing the students about the various national and institutional scholarships. A merit-cum-means scholarship programme is available for meritorious students enrolled in the undergraduate programmes. It offers tuition waivers and other benefits to eligible students. Other IIT Jodhpur scholarship programmes are provided in the form of stipends, tuition fee waivers, assistantship, and other financial assistance. 

Every academic year, IIT Jodhpur scholarship schemes tend to change in terms of admittance, eligibility, or other criteria. Candidates are advised to keep track of the scholarships over the institute’s website. Moreover, IIT Jodhpur students are eligible for several government-approved scholarships. They can apply for the SC scholarship for top-class students. Students from EWS or economically weaker sections of the society can receive fee remission. Besides, the PG programme's students can obtain assistantship if they qualify for the programme's minimum eligibility and have a valid GATE/GPAT score. However, students must meet the scholarship renewal criteria to continue the various IIT Jodhpur scholarship programmes for another academic year.  

IIT Jodhpur Placement

The Career Development Cell (CDC) at IIT Jodhpur serves as the link between the industry and the institute. IIT Jodhpur placement procedure begins with pre-placement offers during October. CDC invites companies and helps them with the registration process. Students need to register for the IIT Jodhpur placement process, which is followed by companies' visit to IIT Jodhpur’s campus. Post this, the placement process finally commences. IIT Jodhpur placement process has six simple stages, namely pre-placement talks, online/written tests, group discussions (GDs), interviews, result declaration, and online feedback. CDC also guides the companies and students to fulfil all the formalities like the date of joining and offer letters.
