I am pursuing B.Tech in MME department, this department is very old and has a rich alumni base, the course curriculum is also a mix of mechanical, electronics and electrical engineering.Professors are highly qualified here holding Phd degrees from reputed institues around the globe. The course curriculum is monitored and updated regularly, to allow student to explore more several electives are being offered across different semesters. One can certainly acquire enough skills to be job ready.
Placement in the college is good. CSE department gets the highest placements both in terms of numbers and packages.80-85% students are placed, highest package offered was 90 lakh by Bloomberg, London from MNC department. Average salary offered is 8-9 lakhs. Placement is assured if one puts in enough hard work and college is supportive in providing ample opportunities for off-campus also.
Per year it costs close to 2.35 lakhs, yes i feel it is completely worth it. The amount of exposure that you get in the college is incomparable to anything, you will get ample opportunity for placement and you will also build your network with amazing and highly successful people which will help you in the long run
Campus life is pretty chill, from RD chai to main canteen you can hang out anywhere in the college with your friends. The best feature of campus is its greenary and worst feature is lack of shops in the campus. Students ,Teachers and support staff are very supporting and will help you at any moment. The location of the college is approximately 5km away from Dhanbad railway station, big bazaar and restaurants are also not too far from the college. The college is totally safe and secure.
Decent college with decent infrastructure you will enjoy your time here
The college has great infrastructure. From fully equipped laboratories, libraries to gym, badminton court, tennis court, 2 playgrounds for cricket and football. Great cafeteria and other food outlets like RD and many more. The whole campus is wifi-friendly. There are 11 hostels which accommodates UG and PG students.
I am pursuing B-Tech in Civil Engineering. The quality of teaching is good. Many workshops, fests, hackathons, etc are always in the row, to let the students understand the current advancements of technology and improve themselves.
The placements in our college are quite good, specially in recent years. Normally, average salary offered is 10-14 LPA; with the highest being 48 LPA. Placement percentage is 65-78% in recent years. With coming years, its only going to improve.
The campus is lush with greenery, beautiful buildings, parks and much more. Apart from the academic activities, the students engage into various co-curricular activities like public speaking, singing, sports, debates, poems, arts, etc with many cultural club and technical clubs to boost not just the academic life but also the social life.
It's absolutely worth it!!

It's a beautiful campus with Greenery all around. If I talk about improvement scope. There is not sufficient or required equipments for research student.
I have done my M.tech in Environmental science and engineering from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. Faculties of my department are very knowledgeable and deliver there knowledge to the student very well. They are highly qualified. After studying from this department I was sure that I can stand by myself in the outside world and can give my input in my field.
I can say only for my self and for my department. So if I'll talk about Environment department.. then yes... No of Placement from Environment department is high. PSU's like coal india and SAIL also comes for placements. The minimum package any company can offer is 6lakh. Below this is not acceptable in ISM.
Yes
Campus Life is the best part of any college life. Every year cultural fest tech fest rock fest Basant and many more events were organised. College is located in the middle of the city. Students teachers every one was very supportive. Its a honour to be part of such reputated college.

I was pursuing the Bachelor of Technology in Electrical engineering theirs. Quality of teaching was at par with most of the top IIT colleges. Yes, the study curriculum was updated as per the requirement of society and as per new developments.
There were quite a few opportunities for students in terms of placement, most of the companies were looking for CS students but open for all so, if someone was interested in CS without being in CS can peruse the job if he has the knowledge of the same.
When I enrolled it cost me Rs. 150000 per year or around Rs. 75000 per semester but that was further increased for new enrollment to Rs.250000 per annum or Rs 125000 per semester. Yes, the quality of teaching was far better than the fee.
IIT ISM Was a closed campus college that has everything inside the same college. the best feature was the availability of all types of food and the worst was whenever I have to go outside I have to walk about 2 Km to go outside campus.
Overall it has a wonderful campus and great teaching facilities, I had experienced many different things such as different fests, competitions, and much more, it provided me with opportunity to where I am now
The college has all the basic amenities and good infrastructure for future engineers. The classrooms are very engaging and interactive. The entire campus is wifi friendly and classes are also equipped with smart boards. Living spaces are clean and green and the food is hygienic.
I’m studying electrical engineering at the college. My interest in the field made me chose this stream. The curriculum is very well updated especially in the online teaching being done nowadays. I feel we really will be ready for the future jobs.
The placements of IIT Dhanbad are pretty good. We have all the good companies coming in for the placements. Almost 60% of students from last year’s batch were placed in companies offering an average package of ₹18L

As we know the placement scenario of IIT dhanbad is very good.then your money will be worthwhile.
Best,Many clubs are functioning here, and annual cultural and technical fest is outstanding. coordination between student and teachers are also very good.
All IITs are definitely prominent for students. But ISM has unique identity in all IITs of india. because of its heritage.
Everything is good, but sometimes lab instruments won't work , but it's fine they will change it by next week. Yes, mostly every part is well maintained , if there is something faulty if we inform it to the incharge then they will fix it
I love learning, and quality of teaching is good. Here self learning is more important unless you have an interest on a subject you can't get that. Because to build your career , you are the foundation no one will help you
Quality of placements are good. Around 20-40% are placed every year and the remaining of them some choose higher studies, some choose to do a startup and some choose to give UPSC and some choose for going through GATE
It's 1lakh for every semester(5 course,2-3 labs). Yes, it's worth . Because not only they teach the subject but also how to analyse it, which also helps in reality. And this approach will encourage us to learn more in that subject
Our academics and extra curricular activities are equally balanced , so every student can choose their own interest ,there will be no force. It's jharkhand ,it's safe and by the way ours is closed campus. Yes , it can handle emergencies

Yes, the college has all the necessary infrastructure for research and stuff. Classrooms are well equipped. Sports facilities are excellent but a lot of indoor sports stadiums are yet to develop. They are extremely well used. Regular sports activities in the morning and evening makes sports a thriving field here. Hostels are quite well maintained. The Central Library is one of the largest libraries in Asia providing reference to a great variety of books. Wifi is free in hostels and library.
Minerals and Metallurgical Engineering. Quality of teaching is good and research is encouraged. Yes, recently the curriculum was revised to help students reach a more diversified field of study and research.
Placements have been good overall. Highest package was around 45 lakes. The Placement cell does a good job providing the best possible experience to the students and companies for internships and jobs. Being a third year student presently I can provide only this much information.
Course costs 2,40,000 per year for a 4 year Btech Course. Yes, the money is somewhat worth . A student's career depends on the combined factors of his/her own efforts and the college. So, I feel that it is not a very black and white answer whether money is worth it or not. It is a combined process. Definitely provided a student is willing to prosper and work, everything that the college demands and provides is worth.
Campus life is excellent. Recent developments like parks and more food courts are adding to it. IIT(ISM) Dhanbad has an immensely good culture of sports to dramatics to debates to dance to music and whatever co-curriclur activities one can think of. One can find students greatly engaged in these activities during the evening time after the regular classes. The campus is safe and well guarded. The fests provided a ecstatic experience.
