The institute offers a large number of scholarships to students. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay scholarships are offered by the Government of India, state government as well as private sources. IIT Bombay Institute Scholarships: There are institute scholarships having two dimensions. Merit cum scholarships or MCM all offer to 25% of intake students and for dual degrees, they are available until the fourth year of study. The two main considerations for this scholarship is academic record and income. In terms of income, the main criteria for this scholarship are sources of income for family or parents that do not exceed Rs. 5,00,000 for eligibility. Students from the reserved category (SC/ST) are exempt from tuition. They can also avail of free tuition dining and availability up to the fourth year of study (dual degree). Also, students in reserved categories can exempt themselves from payment of hostel rent and can collect a pocket allowance of rupees 500 every month. Women candidates also benefit from a merit scholarship of Rs. 10000 every year.

Private Scholarships: Also known as Named scholarships are private by nature and are managed by the Dean of Alumni and Corporate Relations. These are institute-based scholarships having two dimensions. The criteria for the IIT Bombay scholarships i.e. Private Scholarships are both merit-based and means-based. The merit criteria hold for students entering their bachelor's degree in engineering and design through high rank in JEE and UCEED and senior students are considered through their ranking or academic performance. The means criterion puts parental income as the central criterion and the maximum allowed gross income is Rs. 5 lakh. This scholarship requires the submission of an income certificate issued by a government revenue officer such as a tehsildar. If not, the income tax return of the parents needs to be submitted for consideration. Students must perform satisfactorily to benefit themselves in this scholarship.

The infrastructure in-general is really nice. The labs are really high-tech. The department building looks a bit worn-down, but the facilities such as seminar rooms, library etc. Are really up to the mark.The old hostels have really small rooms, and they are in repair mode. The new hostels, however, are really nice. A mess is present in every hostel, and a canteen is present in almost every hostel. The sport facilities are really awesome. Both indoor and outdoor facilities are provided . There is a hospital inside the campus which provides free medical facility for every member.Infrastructure is well and good.
IIT Bombay hostel facilities are good including the food. The department infrastructure is well-built; the college has a canteen and other food spots where we can chill during breaks. The campus is well-maintained with ample recreational facilities, promoting a conducive learning environment.
Our college was known for its world-class facilities and infrastructure. Some general facilities and infrastructure are available for students in all courses like Wi-Fi and well-equipped labs for various departments including computer science, electrical engineering, and more. Infrastructure is well and good here.Labs helped students to get hands-on experience with the latest technologies. There were modern and air-conditioned classrooms equipped with the latest technology to enhance the learning experience for Atmosphere is also very pleasant.

The mechanical engineering department of IIT Bombay has a good placement record. Many core engineering companies come during the time of placements and recruit the students into manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and energy sectors.
Some of the major companies include Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., and Larsen & Toubro Ltd., among others. With a 69 percentile in JEE Main, it is highly unlikely for your son to secure admission in IIT Bombay. Admission to IITs, including IIT Bombay, is based on the JEE Advanced exam, for which qualification through JEE Main is required. Generally, to qualify for JEE Advanced, candidates need to be in the top 2,50,000 ranks in JEE Main, which typically requires a higher percentile than 69.

IIT Bombay is a very prestigious college of country and getting admission in it is one of the most toughest job. The cutoff of IIT Bombay is very high and with 61 percentile, you can not get this college even if you are from SC category. I suggest you to prepare hard and give your best next year.
