NIELIT Srinagar Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Srinagar (NIELIT Srinagar), is a prestigious institute that imparts education in various streams of Electronics and Information Technology. Set in the splendid city of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, NIELIT Srinagar has long been holding the mantle among technological education institutions. The institute is given approval by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on the quality of education and standards of the curriculum.

NIELIT Srinagar has the following likely application process:

1. Online Application: Candidates are to fill an online application form on the official NIELIT Srinagar platform.

2. Document Submission: The applicants need to upload scanned copies of necessary documents, inter alia,

   • 10th and 12th mark sheets

   • Graduation mark sheets (for postgraduate courses)

   • Valid id proof

   • Recent passport-sized photograph

   • Category certificate (if applicable)

3. Application Fee Payment: Candidates must pay the requisite application fee through the online payment gateway.

4. Entrance Examination: For certain courses, a candidate may be required to take an entrance examination conducted by NIELIT Srinagar or any recognized national-level examination.

5. Publication of Merit List: The institute will publish the merit list on the basis of the results of the entrance exam and/or academic performance.

6. Counselling and Seat Allotment: The shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling to be allocated seats on the basis of merit and preference.

7. Document Verification: Original documents shall be verified during the process of admission.

NIELIT Srinagar has an admission procedure for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes within Information Technology. Below is the description of the courses and admission process:

MCA (Master of Computer Applications):
The course MCA at NIELIT Srinagar has a sanctioned capacity of 50 seats.
Admission in the MCA course is probably going to be based on various criteria including evaluation of the candidate's performance in the included degree and in an entrance examination.

M.Sc Information Technology:
This postgraduate program, on the contrary, has an intake capacity of 50 students.
The selection for M.Sc IT is based on the merit of the performance of candidates in bachelor's degrees and in a performance test at graduate level.

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications):
The BCA program is being offered by NIELIT Srinagar with 40 seats.
Admission to BCA is usually based on the performance of the candidate in 10+2 or equivalent examination, with special weightage to subjects such as Mathematics and Computer Science.

B.Sc Information Technology:
This undergraduate program also has an intake of 40 students.
The admission procedure for B.Sc IT is basically the same as that for BCA, that is the student gets admission based on her/his 10+2 marks in the science and math streams.

PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications):
Admitting 35 seats, the PGDCA program is offered at NIELIT Srinagar.
Eligibility for PGDCA admission is merit-based and generally open to graduates from any discipline. Depending on the institution, selection might also include an entrance test or a merit-based evaluation.
