Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh (Deemed to be University), formerly known as PEC University of Technology, is an institution that aims to design education through a continuous process. Given the history, the institute was established in Lahore in 1921 and then shifted to Chandigarh post-independence in 1953. The Punjab Engineering College campus covers an area of over 146 acres of land. PEC Chandigarh has contributed to the nation by producing some great personalities. Punjab Engineering College is a grant-in-aid institution that became a deemed university in 2003 through the guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. PEC Chandigarh imparts education in UG, PG, and doctoral programmes in the disciplines of engineering, humanities, social science, management, and science. The institute also maintains cordial relations with more than 200 companies belonging to the different sectors in order to provide job and internship opportunities to the students.
