Infrastructure of college is good and satisfactory. Classroom have projectors , boards , so many space , good air conditioned classrooms and fully equipped with wifi . Hostels are good and maintained , food quality is okay and hygiene is maintained.
Academics is good and upto mark of top institute in the country . My branch is electrical engineering studying as I have interest in it. Curriculum in some of the branch is not updated . Most of the things we study about and topics makes us job ready.
Placement of the college is very good . For records you can search in google about the stats . As far as i know 80-90% people get placed in recent placements . Median of the salary offered was 15 lakhs per annum. The college is very supportive in placement.
The campus life so good just for some outing its little bit behind with some other IITs cause its in the town . The campus is safe and condition like emergencies it can be handled upto some limit other wise Kolkata is the nearest big city .
One of the topmost college in India. In research , placement , fun and varieties of field to study and get to know.
Hello Aspirant,
According to some recent reports, including one from TOI, IIT Kharagpur has changed its branch change policy, probably blocking or discontinuing the branch change option as we have known it from 2024-25 onward. Although, some official site or previous iteration of the site may still show the previous policy that allows for branch change after the first year based on CGPA. To gain the most accurate and up-to-date information, you would want to look at:
No, you cannot get admission into IIT Kharagpur (IIT KGP) through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE).
IITs, including IIT KGP, accept admissions solely based on scores obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced.
The WBJEE is a separate exam for admission into state-level engineering colleges in West Bengal, not IITs.
GOOD luck!!
Hello,
You have a competitive profile for admission to IIT Kharagpur's M.Tech program with a GATE 2025 score of 630 in Electrical Engineering (EE). Candidates with GATE papers in EE and IN are accepted into the "Instrumentation and Integrated Electronics" program (EE4), and the selection process consists of an interview and the GATE score.
According to prior years, a score of 630 puts you just above the 615–620 general category cutoff range. Therefore, you have a good chance, particularly if you do well during the interview. To increase your chances of getting admitted, sign up for COAP and get well-prepared for the interview.
All the best.
