IIT Kharagpur has a big green campus with modern labs, fast WiFi, clean classrooms, a large library, sports grounds and good hostels. The studies are not only theory. Students work on real projects, research and internships with professors who are very supportive.

With your SC category rank of 4165 in JEE Advanced, you do have a chance to get admission to the Architecture course at IIT Kharagpur. In the previous years, the closing rank for SC category in the B.Arch course at IIT Kharagpur was somewhere around this range, sometimes slightly higher or slightly lower depending on the year and seat availability. Your rank is quite close to the usual cut-off, so your chances are possible but may depend on how the seat allotment moves this year and how many candidates with better ranks opt for the same course.

According to some recent reports, including one from TOI, IIT Kharagpur has changed its branch change policy, probably blocking or discontinuing the branch change option as we have known it from 2024-25 onward. Although, some official site or previous iteration of the site may still show the previous policy that allows for branch change after the first year based on CGPA. To gain the most accurate and up-to-date information, you would want to look at:
- The official IIT Kharagpur UG Rule book/academic brochure for the current year.
- Postings on the official IIT KGP website or admissions website.
- Direct contact with the academic office or administration.
