National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima Facilities

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima offers a wide range of facilities to its students, staff and faculty. NIELIT Kohima facilities include separate hostels for both boys and girls. Sports facilities offered by NIELIT Kohima include indoor and outdoor sports amenities.

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology facilities also include a library with more than 13,830 volumes of books on electronics, computers and allied fields. NIELIT library facility has uninterrupted Wi-Fi for students. Apart from these, NIELIT Kohima facilities also include laboratories, cafeteria, parking facility and alumni associations among others.

Boys Hostel
The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. The total intake capacity of the boys’ hostel is 100. Preference for hostel admission is prioritized for students coming from other districts and states admitted for long-term professional courses at the institute.
Girls Hostel
The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. The total intake capacity of the girls’ hostel is 60 Preference for hostel admission is prioritized to students coming from other districts and states admitted for long-term professional courses at the institute.
Library
The College Library has more than 5500 volumes of books on Computer, Electronics, and allied fields. All prescribed books for all the courses are available in the library. Students can borrow 3-4 books at a time. The library catalog and issue/receipt operation of books is computerized using in-house software called “Library Management System”.
I.T Infrastructure
The College has 7 nos. of general computer labs and 1 Multimedia lab at present. 6 labs and the Multimedia lab have 20 capacities each and 1 lab has 30 capacities. The platform environments working with PCs at these labs are Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8. All the labs are well-furnished and equipped with a Projection System, Whiteboard, and furniture. All the computers in the labs work on licensed software like Microsoft Office, Visual Studio 2010, Oracle Software, etc., besides programming languages and other application software tools. The PCs in these labs can share resources and have access to Intranet resources & Internet. Multimedia lab has high-end PCs and licensed multimedia software like Adobe CS6, 3D Studio Max, Sound Forge, Maya, CorelDraw Suite X6, etc., are deployed to these computers for providing training.
Cafeteria
The college has a canteen facility for staff and students
Auditorium
The college has a state-of-the-art acoustic-treated auditorium with a total capacity of 200 seats. It is equipped with a projector, good lighting, and a sound system. All major functions including annual day award functions, competitions, etc are held in this auditorium which gives a variety of exposure to the students in showcasing their talents and grooming their inborn virtues.
Transport Facility
The college has a transport facility for students and staff.
Laboratories
The college has a departmental-based laboratories facility for the students.
Sports
The college has sports facilities for all students
Guest Room/Waiting Room
The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
Parking Facility
The college has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.
Training and Placement Cell
The Motive of the placement cell is to act as a facilitator to arrange campus visits and coordinate the recruitment process of the prospective employers of graduating students of the college.
