IIT Kanpur has created the Diffusion in Multicomponent Solids certification syllabus offered for free on Swayam. It is a 12-week elective course. In this course, candidates will study the phenomenological and atomistic processes, study alloys and diffusion in material made out of three or more systems. The syllabus is designed to enthral those interested in studying metallurgy and material sciences.

Candidates will derive and solve equations in the  Diffusion in Multicomponent Solids programme. The curriculum is aided by regular graded assignments and an optional final exam. Candidates can choose to obtain the certificate by passing the exam and paying the fee.
