Our College has a huge Area of 980 acres with most part Covered with trees which make campus more and more greener. All the departments are well equipped with all the required labs with proper maintainance. College has a large library with all most all the required books available. Canteen facility is nice but the cost of item there is too high
Teachers are helpful, highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is outstanding teachers also gives notes by side. Our college has obsolute grading system. The course curriculum is relevant and make student industry ready
The college has a nice placement record with average package of 8 LPA, placement of student of circuital branch is nice but non-circuital branch student have average placement record. Our placement cell is otherwise very much helpful to student.
The fees asked by college is somewhat higher than other NIT's and IIT's, it is due to the fact that the college is GFTI's and is not fully government. The facility provided is not according to the fees charged.
Campus life is quite amazing in the college. College has a huge sport complex of 25 acres with facility of nearly all sports, together with fully equipped multi-gym. In addition to that every hostel has its own playground and mess facility. In addition to that college campus has also some private run hostels.
Overall BIT Mesra is a nice college in outskirts of Ranchi with a peaceful and greenary environment. College has a large auditorium where major cultural events of college happens. College also organises various technical and cultural fest where students enjoy a lot
College Infrastructure is very good. IT is clean and well maintained Even hostels are very clean and comfortable and food provided is of quality making kufe at the campus better. Library is okk but labs are something's i.e. very well maintained.
I took admission here because the circumstances were not in my plate and my family wanted me to do that but I don't regret as the quality of the education is really good. Beside, Most of the faculty members are good .
I don't know much about the placement wing but as far as I know this institute offers some really good options, all you need to do is to give your best. Beside, you can travel to any campus for placement so it's like an additional perk.
As per facilities , This college is bit costly as I feel that you can get even better campus life in same amount but Since there is some name of BIT MESRA in northern India so it's okk to spend here also.
Campus life- it totally depends on you that how you are going to treat these years of your life, you can best of it and even worst. College will not add much to your recreation and all but yeah you can surely make it best by exploring all the offered opportunities and making few by your ownself.
This College is lil better than Most of the Average colleges that are now present in Chunks. The name of the Main Campus i.e. BIT MESRA will surely help you somewhere in future as it has it's own goodwill.
The infrastructure of the college is wealthy. Each year a lot of money has been spent to make the infrastructure better. Around the campus, one can see the lush green environment loaded with trees. The college has very good facilities. The hostel encompasses wifi facilities with decent speed. The laboratories, library and sports centers are well equipped. They are well-maintained. You can see hygiene all around the campus. The mess food is decent and also they provide special dinner to students.
I have studied Mechanical Engineering. The teachers always tried to clear the doubts of students in their subjects. The ECE department teachers are a little bit strict because they always tried that students can gain a good understanding of the subject. From the past two years (2K19 batch) the college introduced the CBCS curriculum. The curriculum is up to date and includes all recent developments. The students here can explore themselves in various field.quality teaching
The placements of BIT Mesra are far better than other GFTI'S. Especially the Computer Science and Information Technology students got placed in big companies. of the students got placed from college in good companies like VKC, ICICI, Bandhan Bank, etc. Almost 70% of students were in the 2017-2018 batch who pursuing their degrees in CSE & IT Engineering. The highest package of the college is 40 lakhs per annum & the average package varies from 6-8 lakhs per annum.
Well! The fee structure of the college is little bit high in this college. Each year you have to pay Rs.300000. But yes the college also provide scholarship to meritorious students according to their CGPA.Yes, I can say that the internship opportunities are higher than the low ranked NIT & GFTI. There are numerous companies which came in our college & give students the opportunity to work with them. But yes if you believe in yourself & if you work hard, then you can grab a good package.
The campus life is really good. Every morning when you wake up you feel freshness around. You can also take part in lot of activities & can join clubs to explore yourself. Each year a cultural festival BITOTSAV ,technical festival Pantheon & sports festival 'Vajra' are celebrated where you can enjoy a lot .These festival surely fresh up your mind and give you the relaxation from the headache schedule of the college for two-three days. The guards are always there for security & can handle emergency.
Overall the college is excellent and their NIRF ranking is also good You can explore yourself as much as you can. There are many clubs and societies associated with the students for both technical and non technical. Clubs like music, dance,Almost 70% of students were in the 2017-2018 batch who pursuing their degrees in CSE & IT Engineering. The highest package of the college is 40 lakhs per annum & the average package varies from 6-8 lakhs per annum. Yes, the placement process is easy & pleasant.
Yes my college has all the necessary infrastructure and facilities. The labs have all the advanced equipments. The college campus is quite big and full of greenery. The hostel buildings are also well maintained with wifi facilities
Currently I am pursuing Btech from Bit mesra. The quality of teaching over here is very good. Professors are very friendly with the students and are always there to help. The curriculum is also updated and includes all the recent developments
The quality of placement at Bit mesra is very good. And that's what it's known for. All the branches have very good placement ratio and a great average package too. In fact bit mesra is no less than any other good government college in terms of placements
This is the only thing that makes it difficult for the students to make a choice between nits and bit mesra. The college charges higher fee than other government college but in return they also give you all the facilities.
The campus life is very good and enjoyable.Bit mesra has a very huge campus and there's a lot of greenery over there. The mess is also good over there. The playgrounds are also big and a variety of sports can be played over there.
The College overall is a very good college for pursuing your dream job. You only have to work hard for it and the rest of the thing are provided by the college itself. The teaching, the mentoring, all of it.
It's green and woody environment is the biggest point of attraction for nature lovers. Infrastructure is fabulous. Have all the required facilities and equipment. Hostels are quite disappointing but u can't get everything perfect. 24*7 wifi facilities. Campus is spread in Acres with lots of saal trees which gives a perfect place for evening walks. I just love it.
Some departments are outstanding while others need some improvement. EEE is fabulous. Management is also good. Civils need some improvement. But overall all the departments are good. Faculties are the +points of the institution. All the faculties are very helpful and supportive. Always ready to clear your doubt and take extra class which is quite disappointing ?
Placement offers are overall good. So many good companies came and take students in bulk. Average package is also good. Placement percentage is almost 100 for each n every department. Infact college also provide internship opportunity in so many good companies.
Money is valued a lot ?. They will not leave a paisa even?. But being in such a good college and getting all the facilities is like paisa wasul thing. And it's green and woody environment pays all the monek back.
Campus Life is Just like heaven. Being in a woody environment always gives you the Vibes of hill station. Fests are one of the best thing everyone waits for. So much of area are there for organising games and tournaments.
I just love it's infrastructure and woody environment. Being far from city and its crowd it is one of the best place to gain knowledge and have a wonderful time.❤️❤️
Infrastructure is just awesome. You have the basic to advance level facilities. With a lot(when i say a lot means a lot) of greenery around, it's one of the most beautiful campus in India. The library and Sport Center is world class. Hostels are decent. The food is good(if not great). Wi-fi campus with LAN. Buses at regular intervals for traveling to city.
Professors are great (mostly, leave a few). The labs of ece department is quite great. With literally everything you will need in ece. The curriculum is old. Even though professors teach us to apply the theory in real life. Well there are a few professor who are worse. One thing common ,each professor of ece is strict regarding attendence and assignment.
This matters the most. The placement of BIT Mesra is too good. The avg ctc : 11.76 LPA , median ctc : 8.47 LPA , Highest ctc : 51LPA. For CS and IT , 90 -95% , ECE : 75-80% , EE and MECH : 65-70% (EE slightly better than Mech). Rest : 55-60% ( except biotech: 35-40%). (Remember the avg and median ctc is by combining all the branches) .
On an avg , per year fees is about 3Lpa. Including everything (except personal expenses) ,it cost around 13L to get a b.tech degree. But this worth it. The reason is the amazing campus life . The lots of memories (and ofcourse the placement).
Lots and lots of club. Not a single day will go boring. Beside the daily hustle bustle, the weekends are so jam packed with different seminars, contest, quizzes , workshop. You will love it here. The seniors are so good, one won't find any trouble settling in. It's15minute drive from Ranchi Main City. The college is itself in a quite populated area.

We have a TNP cell that manages the companies coming for the placement. After you enter in 3rd year of college. You will get registered on the TNP portal. You will be notified through these placement cells about the company visiting the campus for the placements.
Yes it is worthy only if you do hard work and focus mainly on your career and skills. If you are from the IT domain and work consistently on your skills. Definitely, you will get very good packages from the company. Core branches have not very good placement records, especially in pandemic times. BIT has the highest placements around 50 LPA. So I say it is worth it for the money. Just focus on increasing your skills and experience.
BIT has fantastic college fest like Bitosav, Vajra, and pantheon. Bitosav, Vajra, and Pantheon are the cultural, sports, and technical fest of the BIT Mesra which attracts students from the different colleges. We have 23 clubs that really help you to set your skills and grow your network. Bit still not have fences but they are working on it. The college life is just thrilling here.
BIT Mesra is a very good college and far better than most of the NITs and other private colleges. It has a very good NIRF ranking. Circuital branches have very good placement records compare to non-circuital. Additionally they focus on academics on a serious basis comparatively to other colleges. So I believe it is a worthy college overall. Afterall you will have a great experience here.

Yes, everything is quite good. The classes are well equipped with proper internet facilities and good smart boards. The curriculum is well crafted to cater to all needs. The campus is clean and green .
I am studying chemical engineering. It is a choice course from my side. The quality of teaching is good. Placements are also good and the curriculum for preparation is also effective. Practical approach is followed.
The quality of placements is good. The maximum package goes till 40 LPA with about 60% students placed from non circuital and about 85% placed from circuital branches. It is quite a good number and reputed companies hire.
Best infrastructure ever. Greenery everywhere. Labs contain all types of equipment. Classrooms have ACs in them and soft chairs. Some are being constructed now during lockdown link the college boundaries, etc.
I am an ECE student in this college. Good teachers. The curriculum is a bit old and must be updated. You have to study some extra for becoming job-ready. The more you are knowledgeable, the more you get an upper hand.
Good placement statistics every year. Some of them go off-campus for better choice but the administration brings the best companies to the campus. For ECE, the highest was 40 LPA. Some of them go for further studies. The average salary is approx. 12-13 LPA.
135000 for the first two semesters, 140000 for the next two, 150000 for next two, and so on till 8th semester it is 155000
Best
Hello Aspirant,
With a 489 rank in CG PET 2025 under the General category you have a very good chance of getting CSE at BIT Durg. Historically CSE has closed at about 700-800 under General category, so you will be well within the typical cutoff range.
Electrical Engineering at BIT Durg is also a good branch. The department has good faculty and labs. While placements in core EE are not as many compared to CSE, many EE students got good placement in IT/software roles on campus. If you have an interest in electronics, power systems or want to prepare for competitive exams like GATE or PSU jobs then EE is a good option.
hi,
If you’ve scored 89 percentile in JEE Mains 2025 and are aiming for Computer Science (CSE) at BIT Durg, your chances depend on a few factors like your category and whether you’re applying under the home state quota.
From previous year trends on Career360, CSE at BIT Durg usually requires a percentile above 92–95 for General category students. However, if you belong to OBC, SC, or ST categories and have the home state advantage, 89 percentile could still give you a fair chance, especially in the later rounds or spot rounds.
Even if you don’t get CSE in the first few rounds, you can still keep hope for IT or other related branches, which are also good.
Hello,
Yes, you can write the session 1 exam even if your 12th mark sheet was not uploaded during the BIT SAT application . Usually, not uploading the mark sheet at the time of registration does not stop you from appearing in the exam.
Just make sure to upload the required documents before the final admission process or as instructed by the exam authority.
If you want to be completely sure, you can check with the BIT SAT help desk or their official website for any specific rules about this. But generally, there is no objection for writing the session 1 exam in this case.
Hope it helps !
