Infrastructure is upto your expectation . College has good sports facilities , gym, recreational area and is full of lush green tress which gives it a very scenic beauty. College provide free wifi in campus and ethernet in every room. Mess is so so one can bare the food .
Academics are a subject of Ugc and Aicte which is same as compare to all other college of it's level. course contains subjects which are important for placements but not enough to get a job. Electives are good though.
Placements is the usp of this college!! Most of students prefer BIT over other colleges of it's rank because of it's decent placements. College has a highest placement of 45 lakh and average of 10 lakh in ece . Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, PwC, Deloite, TCS are some famous recruiters.
Fees is a bit on higher side . I mean not meant to be charge the amount which we pay .
Campus life is a one you have to compromise a little (for girls) but boys can enjoy with there with no closing time from second year . College conducts many cultural and technical events throughout the year . The most famous of that is bitostav one of the largest cultural event of east India which consist a good amount of mob from colleges around India and many other famous personalities on the list every year . The event is one of the most awaited among the students every year
Birla Institute of Technology Mesra has really very good infrastructure full of greenery. BIT Mesra is built up in about 1 Acre of land. It has a cordial auditorium with a capacity of 2500 people. There are different canteens available within the campus like Mehak, H&P, and Lakshmi. The library has very good collections of books on all subjects. BIT Mesra is also famous for its sports complex & Gymnasium hall. The institute also provides a free wi-Fi facility on the whole campus for the internet
BIT is a deemed university with excellent academy records. We have a very organized laboratory full of modern instruments and software especially biotech. BIT Mesra also provides the Birla scholarship to meritorious students. Our academic is controlled by AICTE and UG. We have an almost similar academic syllabus to that of NIT AND IITs.
We have a TNP cell that manages the companies coming for the placement. After you enter in 3rd year of college. You will get registered on the TNP portal. You will be notified through these placement cells about the company visiting the campus for the placements. We have very good placements of the students belonging from the IT domain. Most of the tier-1 company from Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft to tier-3 companies like TCS visit the college to recruit meritorious students.
If you are from the IT domain and work consistently on your skills. Definitely, you will get very good packages from the company. Core branches have not very good placement records, especially in pandemic times. BIT has the highest placements around 50 LPA. So I say it is worth it for the money.
BIT has fantastic college fest like Bitosav, Vajra, and pantheon. Bitosav, Vajra, and Pantheon are the cultural, sports, and technical fest of the BIT Mesra which attracts students from the different colleges. We have 23 clubs that really help you to set your skills and grow your network. Bit still not have fences but they are working on it.
BIT Mesra is a very good college and far better than most of the NITs and other private colleges. It has a very good NIRF ranking. Circuital branches have very good placement records compare to non-circuital.
Infrastructure is very well maintained and is widened in the very large area. The extension centre should be in more wide area. As the extension centre's campus is very small but the main campus is large enough.
The facilities are well qualified and have proper knowledge of their subjects.the quality of teaching is decent . The curriculum is well updated as per the latest industry requirement. Overall the academics is quite good.
Technical courses student get good placements but the other courses placement is not that good for a college like BIT vocational courses should have more placement values and opportunities for students.
Fees is a bit on the higher end as compared to the courses for the technical courses and the literature courses fee structure is not that high but it's worth it. Some voactional courses fee structure may be improved.
Campus Life is quite enjoyable but the campus is far from the city which is the main issue for the students the extention centre is in the heart of the city (main areas). extension centre don't have hostel facilities.
Infrastructure is good.... Sports centre is awesome, there r 4 gyms and the new one is superb. Hostels, library r also good. Labs r also quite good too. Wifi is present everywhere, from hostel to collage everywhere and the speed is pretty decent.
Good faculty. Very supportive. U can work with them when u have sufficient knowledge about ur subject. Can engage in research and development. There r also some foreign exchange programme which takes place for the BTech students, where they can interact and learn from various foreign professionals...
For General stream students especially for Physics placements r very rare but for BTech it's quite good. CSE, electrical, mechanical always have 100% placement. Others can also start various startups with funding from Entrepreneurship clubs.
For me per year it costs 1.35L. It's quite worth of money. The cost is very less as compared to other Private collages.........so for me it's awesome. The mess fees they take r also returned back if they r not used totally.
Campus life is awesome.... The campus is huge with 80% área under green forest.... One can enjoy the nature there...... There r even river view points behind the campus.... There r some many fests and clubs which will take care of entertainment part of ur life there.
For me it's a pretty decent collage with high placement for the BTech. The professors r very supportive. U can work with them to write and review papers and can start ur research work if u r interested from ur 2 or 3 year depending on ur level of understanding.
The campus spreads about 800 acres with good infrastructure but the major part of the land is forest covered. We have well furnished classroom and well equipped labs. The library has good range of books for every departmen. The sports complex is well maintained with all the sports facilities such as basketball court ,volleyball Court, football ground , running tracks , indoor badminton Court, calisthenics, well equipped gym. Hostels are clean and hygienic with good food facilities.
I was pursuing mechanical engineering (2k16 batch)from BIT Mesra. The faculties are good but the curriculum was not updated for our batch. However the update was made for batch of 2K18 onwards. The software skills are very important in today's technology but we had to learn 3 software in just one semester which affected our interests towards learning them rather we had pressure to pass the subject. Theoretical teachings are very good but talking about skills there is a room for improvement.
The placement was good for our batch even in the pandemics. Training and placement cell worked very well for bringing the companies in pandemic year too. The highest salary offered was 43 lpa from Microsoft to 13 students. The average placement is 5-6 lpa. The college is supportive for the placements.
I would say the value for money was OK. Because comparing to other colleges like the IIT ,BITS the canteen facilities can be improved. The labs need to be build more.
The campus is very beautiful and esthetic. The best of the campus is its greenery and the fest. The cultural fest BITOTSAV , technical fest pantheon, sports fest Vajra brings a lot of enthusiasm for all students and show their cultural , technical and active skills. Teachers are supportive towards all the fest but strict about attendance too. The campus is safe but the in timing of girls should be extended. But some security guards are rude and doesn't know to behave properly.
Overall the campus is good with good placement and infrastructure.
BIT was established in 1955 and is a semi-government institute located in Mesra, Ranchi. BIT Mesra is deemed as university. The UGC and the AICTE have approved BIT Mesra, and the NAAC has accredited it. Our college has one of the best infrastructures with a wide range of amenities, and the natural beauty that surrounds it adds a special touch and creates a tranquil atmosphere. We have smart boards and easy Wifi. The food is delicious and served in a clean setting.
I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. At BIT-Mesra, the alumni network is both large and national. Architectural Journalism, Photography, Conservation, and Urban Planning are fine electives to take in college, and although they are just a few of many, they give you an idea of the various fields you can pursue with a B.Tech. The programme is current and covers all of the most recent advancements in the industry. It adheres to the CBCS pattern syllabus and prepares for job.
BIT Mesra's placements are much superior to those of other GFTI's. Computer Science and Information Technology students, in particular, were located in large corporations. The college also develops a large alumni network, and we have a Placement Cell that sends out emails with new career or internship opportunities. At BIT Mesra, the 2019 placement session ended with 859 students receiving career offers.
BIT Mesra's fee structure, on the other hand, is very expensive. You must pay Rs.162500 in the first semester, including hostel fees, and Rs.137500 in the second semester. That means you would pay Rs.300,000 in your first year of college. I believe it is very difficult for a middle-class family to pay such high fees. However, if you believe in yourself and work hard, you will land a decent career.
The campus is situated in the capital city of Jharkhand, Ranchi, and has a lush greenery setting. There are many academic and non-professional clubs and societies affiliated with the students. Technical clubs include IEEE, IET, ACM, EDC, and others, as well as music, dance, theatre, literature, and Leo clubs. We have a sporting centre with all manner of supports and a gymnasium. The teachers are very helpful and well-educated. It is completely safe and stable. Guards are on duty 24 hours a day,
My time at this college has been fantastic so far.

The campus has lush greenery environment located in the capital city of Jharkhand.Teachers are well qualified here. Their teaching quality is also decent, but it depends on specific factors like student-teacher relationship.Professors here are good, knowledgeable and helpful, but sometimes they can be biased. The course curriculum is designed by revised CBCS regulation. It is 100% safe for both boys & girls.Security guards are present in all the entrance of hostels under the supervision of warden
The college also conducts some fests like Bitotsav (annual fest), Pantheon (tech fest), Vajra (sports fest), and many more music and art fests and competitions held. Well the fee structure of BIT Mesra is quite expensive. In first semester you have to pay Rs.162500 including hostel fees & in the second semester the fee will be 137500.That means you have to pay Rs.300000 in first year of College.I think it's quite difficult for a middle class family to pay that much amount of fees. But yes if you believe in yourself & if you work hard, then you can grab good package. If you see the staff, facilities & campus area then it is worth to spend money in this college.

Hello Aspirant,
With a 489 rank in CG PET 2025 under the General category you have a very good chance of getting CSE at BIT Durg. Historically CSE has closed at about 700-800 under General category, so you will be well within the typical cutoff range.
Electrical Engineering at BIT Durg is also a good branch. The department has good faculty and labs. While placements in core EE are not as many compared to CSE, many EE students got good placement in IT/software roles on campus. If you have an interest in electronics, power systems or want to prepare for competitive exams like GATE or PSU jobs then EE is a good option.
hi,
If you’ve scored 89 percentile in JEE Mains 2025 and are aiming for Computer Science (CSE) at BIT Durg, your chances depend on a few factors like your category and whether you’re applying under the home state quota.
From previous year trends on Career360, CSE at BIT Durg usually requires a percentile above 92–95 for General category students. However, if you belong to OBC, SC, or ST categories and have the home state advantage, 89 percentile could still give you a fair chance, especially in the later rounds or spot rounds.
Even if you don’t get CSE in the first few rounds, you can still keep hope for IT or other related branches, which are also good.
Hello,
Yes, you can write the session 1 exam even if your 12th mark sheet was not uploaded during the BIT SAT application . Usually, not uploading the mark sheet at the time of registration does not stop you from appearing in the exam.
Just make sure to upload the required documents before the final admission process or as instructed by the exam authority.
If you want to be completely sure, you can check with the BIT SAT help desk or their official website for any specific rules about this. But generally, there is no objection for writing the session 1 exam in this case.
Hope it helps !
