Academics
The university encourages students to participate in cultural festivals, sports events, seminars, workshops, and NSS/NCC activities, which help in developing both academic and personal skills. The faculty members are generally supportive and knowledgeable, and students get opportunities to interact with guest lecturers and industry experts from time to time.
College Infra
Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya has a spacious and green campus that provides a peaceful environment for students. The campus is well-maintained with wide roads, gardens, and adequate seating areas, making it a comfortable place for studying and spending time with friends. The central library has a good collection of books, journals, and digital resources, while classrooms are decent and equipped for regular academic activities.
Placements
On the downside, some infrastructure requires modernization, especially certain classrooms and laboratory facilities. Faculty needs to be improved and quality of education too otherwise the university has a good name but there are alot of things to be fixed beyond its fame rest classes timings needs be to properly aligned even professors can’t keep up..management needs to work good on everything
Campus Life
Campus life not so good not much places to hangout but if you got good friends everything is good
Placements
Placements you’ll get if you work hard rest there are many options academic needs to be strong for good placements university provides quite less placement options so cant be fully dependent on university

BA Economics Hons - Batch of 2026-01-01
Academics
Enrolled in BA economics hoping to get detailed knowledge in different sections of economics but instead became laborat of NEP. The professors are average and some are below, none of them trained to implement the guidelines of NEP. Wasted three years on studying stupid courses just to gain unnecessary multidisciplinary skills instead of real life practicals.
College Infra
The only thing good enough in this university even though some departments suffers from intense heat. Even though wifi is good but who will even want to sit in that heat. No cctv for the stolen stuffs. Only one professor knows how to use smart board in my department so o ky his class gets to sit there.
Campus Life
Okay for me. Not the best still. The lack of trained staff and the rude and rigid administration can cost me my confirmed seat in a foreign university. When I went to ask for how to apply for a plain bachelor's degree none of the staff was able to answer not even my HoD I had to go to the COE. He too gave a rigid answer of waiting for the portal to open. No consideration of how foreign enrollments work. The further process of legalization can cost me my future.
Placements
No scope under BA. Outdated syllabus. Maybe one guy in a batch will be lucky to get a placement but that's too rare. Everyone is confused on how to even proceed with 4th year research or how to drop out in 3 years. None of the staff has knowledge too.
Value For Money
The only value for money is the degree and the central university stamp. Otherwise it has same standards as any other college in Chhattisgarh. Leave the money's value i can't even get what's my right on time. An official transcript and provisional degree. Why implement NEP if you can't respect the multiple entry and exit guidelines?
