PEC Chandigarh Reviews on Infrastructure, Campus, Placement, Facilities & Faculty

College Infrastructure is too poor as compared to other Newly build NITs and all IITs, but it's kind of better than old NITs,or same like them, old buildings, old labs,New Labs are under construction, Hostels,Departments,Classes re getting renovated, currently condition is poor but if you coming PEC as 2023 fresher so you will not face any problem, everything will be ready till time,Libraries are good but they are biased and give books to reserved qouta students first no matter they are rich.

I am from Mechanical department, The curriculum for circuital branches is updated and they take every mandatory step to maintain it to new industry trends, the quality of teaching is average, neither students are interested nor the teachers are interested in teaching,This will not make you job ready but will you to grab a job if you get a good CG in PEC, for non-circuital branches curriculum is still old

Placements are very high paying, I will add images of placement stats, you will understand from that data better than me telling in words, highest off-campus was 1.5cr and on-campus are given in the images I have attached, Really IIT level Placements.

Course cost per year is around 3LPA, this fee is totally worth it as per placements are concerned, you will your fee in 3rd year of college as PEC provides very good intern opportunities in 5th semester which will pay you a good amount.And further placements are always there in PEC.

The campus is small but if in Punjab NIT's campus is even smaller than PEC so Punjab Haryana colleges don't have big campus size but the area they is fully used and not like colleges having big campus and 80% of area is empty, space is fully utilized, Students are always engaged in club activities and believe me you will loving this campus and it's location after living for 1 semester in PEC.The city is fully secured and can take care of emergency situationscollege

Many people keep complaining about college infrastructure, every college has its own uniqueness, and PEC is spending a lot on its Infrastructure, new hostels are building, Classrooms are getting renovated, Old hostels are getting renovated, currently hostels are really poor and this situation will remain poor for many years, mere hostels are given to either people having connections or too early arrivers

I am from EE,PEC is a good engineering college in The teachers very knowledgeable and experienced, and they help learn about engineering. The college offers different courses in engineering, and they teach both the theory and practical aspects of their field. The college has a good reputation, and many students who have studied here have gone on to do great things in their fields, definitely college never makes you job ready, get rady to develop your skills by side struggle.

PEC has a strong industry-academia interface, and many top companies from various sectors such as IT, Manufacturing, Consulting, and others visit the campus for recruitment. Some of the top recruiters at PEC Chandigarh include Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Samsung, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors, and many more.Avergae Package this year was 16.7LPA, overal and highest was 1.5cr(off) and 83LPA Oncampus

The college is a public engineering college that is funded by the government, and the tuition fees for students are relatively affordable compared to many other private engineering colleges in India.Fee is around 3.3LPA but it's worth it as you will get better placements after years

college hosts many cultural and technical events throughout the year, such as TechNidarshan (a technical festival), PECFest (a cultural festival), and TEDxPEC (a TEDx event). These events provide us with a platform to showcase our talents and skills, and they also give a chance to interact with professionals and experts in their fields, and I think there is nothing to explain about Chandigarh, all know about that, it's 99% safe City , rest 1% depends on you

Legacy of 103 years is incredible

Every required thing is available inside campus, new academic blcck is built very well and it has every modern technique required for teaching engineering, I will sharing an image of on going classroom in NAB, Many people complain about old departments but I think being old they have many equipments that were available earlier and new colleges struggle to buy them as those are very expensive, food is also good or I will say eatable, it will not create any problem for you.

Academics depends on teachers you get, even sometimes one branch is divided into 7-8 groups and they all have different teachers, though I am pretty sure this curriculum will never help you for Placements but it's necessary in every engineering college to maintain your CGPA, else you will not allowed to sit in placements and same criteria is filtered in PEC

Top College of North India in terms of placements, If You get a circuital branch in PEC, you can say your future is secured, moreover if you are non circuital branches those are better than computer science of many private colleges in terms of placements, Highest offered package this year on campus was 83 LPA, and 1.5 Cr for off campus, Everyone dream company you can imagine visists PEC for hiring, no worries about placements and future

For general category students this College don't provide any scholarship or some negligible scholarships, But I will you should invest th hai money in PEC without any doubt, so average fee including end to end everything will cost you around 14Lac, according to me it's totally worth it investing your money and future in PEC

Campus life is outstanding, because of Chandigarh location it's makes the best part of life chilling, climbing, learning things , getting high level exposure of alumni network, spending night on working for clubs with your seniors and friends in workshops totally give you a memorable time, You will find this in every review taking about planning of Chandigarh City and it's totally true, this city can handle any type of emergencies.

Absolute glory for an engineering student

I don't know whether it's called legacy or it's the negative side of this college, The moment you enter PEC you will see hundreds of year-old buildings, this same thing is with IIT Roorkee but they had balanced it well by integrating their legacy infra with new and modern architecture, this is where PEC lost in infra, Now I have seen PEC is going on the same path as of IITR and building new hostels, auditoriums,mess,classroom if you join PEC in 2023, You will definitely see a new modern PEC.

I am from the Metallurgy department, teachers are neither good nor worst, it depends from teacher to teacher, the curriculum is too old and not related to industry requirements, and the curriculum will not make you job ready, as Metta doesn't have a strong core, so you will have to study consultancy, finance by your own for placements though seniors will guide you.

See I am from Metallurgy and I will definitely recommend you to take metallurgy in PEC over CSE in any private college because the median of Metta this year was around 10LPA which is very as compared to CSE in private colleges(3-4LPA), Overall branches package was 16.7LPA, Highest was 83LPA(CSE) on campus and off campus was 1.5cr(EE student)

PEC is 100% value for money as the return on investment is really very high, many students can't afford that expense and take loans very happily( who knows the value of PEC in companies), and expense for 4 years currently is around 13.5LPA(including Mess, Hostels, Academics)

The campus of PEC is quite vibrant with events happening almost whole year. The campus is full of greenary buildings are just in pockets in between. There is every type of activity for every type of student so that's awesome. There is very little support and almost everything is managed by students, exams are conducted by M.TECH and PhD students and some are even faculty. This location is the best part of PEC and may be the reason of it's success. Hospitals and police services are available.

Best Place to invest your 4 years of life

Though overall infra of PEC is not even considerable, just old buildings and campus is done. But I am in ECE, our department is very good and well furnished, ECE labs are also well maintained and newly made, Everything is available in our branch department, but other departments don't have basic things and are poorly maintained like Civil, Mech departments are poorest departments of PEC, you will not say these are departments of Tier-1 College. Mess food is kind of okay

I am studying in ECE branch, Again same ECE academics are very good and we can rely on college for that, but if you want to take placement in software you have to study on your own by giving extra time, branches except CSE,ECE here are all having poor academics(they reason you find almost every review saying poor academics).And one more thing curriculum of those branches are also old

ECE is best performing branch of PEC, this ECE crossed median package of CSE, talking about ECE average it as 18LPA, CSE it was 25LPA, EE its was something around 12Lpa, non circuital branches have an average of around 10LPA but with Low placements rate, so keep that in mind. Though be sure about placements once you enter PEC

Not much expensive as Delhi govt colleges and not as cheaper as NITs or normal govt colleges, Hostels are too poor, libraries are not opened full time, dispensaries are closed or doctors are not interested to treat you, so I don't believe it's value for money until or unless placements are a concern for you.

There is no point of talking about PEC's campus because its too poor compared to some others, You will be living in mid of Chandigarh, where you will experience the feel of foreign well developed countries and you will enjoy a lot in this college and will not realize when the 4 years will ended, I can say with 100% assurance this place can handle any emergency situation at any time, no problems with that.

Overall nice in terms of placements for circuital branches.

PEC has almost every necessary facility, and equipments but the problem is with it's old infrastructure, except the New Academic block for first year students every department lacks basic facilities like air conditioning, smart classes though PEC is working on it but it will take time, Hostels are also like 'you have to live there no other option', very poor hostels except the new ones which are given to either people having connections or early arrivers, Food is improved a lot.

Poor Academics, I am in Electrical branch, quality of teachers is good but PEC don't have enough infra and machines, Machines and robots that were given by big MNCs are not properly maintained and they lack servicing, curriclum is out dated as that of every tier-1 college of India, This will never make you job-ready, PEC's exposure is what will make you ready for a high paying job.

What best word I can use for Placements like Excellent,Amazing,Uncomparable etc I will use that here, Beyond expectations placements everything, graph is increasing at very high pace, Companies like JP Morgan, Adobe, Google, Microsoft, GoldmanSacchs regularly visit PEC every year, Average was 16LPA this year, for CSE it was 25LPA and highest was 83LPA to 5 students

Though expensive but still value's the expense we do on it, at end having a good package will clear your fee in half the year, so be free to invest in this college rather than NITs, though they are cheaper but can't provide internships and Placement stats of PEC.Average fee including everything will be around 3LPA

Great Campus life, you will forget the meaning of word 'bore' after coming PEC, you will learn a lot while enjoying and living to fullest, Clubbing will be a major part of your outings, PGI and GMC's are near about 1 km from PEC, even PGI is neighbor of PEC with common wall of GATE 4, so don't worry about health care emergencies, You are in Planned City(Chandigarh).

Fully secure future if you are in PEC

Being a 102 year old, infra is still that 102 years old, very poor and old infrastructure, only siemens lab is well furnished and it's developed to something at next level, even top IITs don't have any that kind of lab, except that everything is trash, from hostels to academic blocks to departments everything requires reconstruction, though PEC has started spending a good chunk of money on infra,it will take around 2 years to build it but I have seen the construction, PEC is building a new ERA.

I am really disappointed with PEC's curriculum, being a Teir-1,I thought it will be having excellent curriculum but later I came to know every top college like IITs,NITs,PEC,DTU are struggling with academics, but having top students from all over India PEC stands out in every Field including startups, Placements, producing Top Talents of India in every area, so academics doesn't effect overall growth of students even it enhances skills because we get enough time to work on coding etc

Placements are outstanding and you will feel 100% secured about your future, Talking about Average Package its 16.7 LPA for overall, CSE average package is 25LPA. ECE is 18LPA, EE is 15LPA, I am a Data Science student but Data science currently don't have any placement stats because DS was started this year so our first batch will have placements in 2025, talking about non-circuital placements is not that good but compared to private college CSE placements our lower branch placements are better.

Though it's not as cheap as NITs but costs much less than private colleges, fee is same like IITs but facilities provided have a huge difference, as I talked about infra earlier it's not value for money from that aspect, but as placements are very high so it's get compensated there, Fee is around 3LPA , but ROI is very high so be tension free about fee, Study loans are easily once you will fill out PEC in the form.

PEC Campus is very small and old so in starting you will very bored but will you connect with friends and seniors it will become great with and then it get's mixed with Chandigarh vibes which makes it heaven for a student , Teachers and support staff are mostly unsupportive, some of them are really excellent but you butter them a little bit, This Campus or I will say this best planned city Chandigarh can handle any kind of emergency very easily

Always Recommended to join PEC and don't leave it for NITs, You will get Exposure of IITs here

Infra is kind of okayish, or I will say on the negative side, because NAB, Seimens lab, and ECE lab are the only good infrastructure PEC has right now, Department lecture halls are not even air-conditioned, and those also lack the primary teaching required equipment, Sports centers are like 0, Almost no funding is given to Sports by PEC, Living spaces are not worth according to the fee they charge, and food is now improving earlier people used to complain a lot.

Very poor really very poor academics, Teachers don't even know how to teach,I can't use that words here. Still literally, I was shocked by the level of teachers in a TOP Tier college of India. However, My friends in NITs,IITs told the condition is same there too so nothing will happen even if you complain, PEC's or any other college curriculum will never make you job-ready either its IIT,DTU,PEC,NIT or CU, Amity.

This part is really unbelievable, how outstanding placements PEC is having right now, Overall average is 16.7LPA, Where NIT students struggle too much to get an internship, in PEC if you work hard even a little but you will grab an internship,Highest Package was 83LPA on campus and 1.5cr Off campus, Apple,Adobe,Amazon like companies visit PEC campus regularly for placements.

Being a too much expensive college compared to other TOP govt. colleges of India.I believe PEC is surely value for money,While living here for 4 years you will get nothing in terms of infrastructure after paying 3.3L per year, but you will be getting an Alumni Network of 103 years, which includes people in Top MNC's,Top Administrative positions,And after 4 years you will definitely get a high paying job so it's worth it according to me.

Campus life depends on individual how he/she balance it out, you can enjoy whole day to tfullest while learning something or just enjoy or just study whole day so it depends on you from end to end, PEC being in Chandigarh will provide you with everything in which you can enjoy to the level that you can't even imagine if you are a JEE student, Dispancary is open but for only 10AM-5PM, and it really will not help, Doctors are unavailable or are like not ready to work, but PGI shares wall with PEC.

Great place to learn and earn too.

College infra is really very poor, Labs are in the condition that they can't be used for research, Seimens labs was built by Seimens very costly and PEC is unable to manage the service cost of machines and robots.NAB is well built but the Departments are very old and can't provide sufficient facilities for modern-day teaching methods, Food is now improving as the hostel committee is taking surveys every month about food quality.

Academics are also very poor, Curriculum is old and can't meet industry levels but students are very hard working and smart, and due to seniors' exposure students are able to get high-paying skills which give PEC high placements stats, Teachers have excellent knowledge but they are just unable to transfer that to students.

Placements are outstanding and meet IIT levels, Overall Average this year was 16.7LPA,CSE, around 87% students from circuital get's placed, and 70% from noncircuital branches.CSE average was 25LPA,ECE 18LPA,EE 15LPA, college is really supportive in terms of placements.

Too costly for a general candidate, no scholarships for general candidates,Fee will be around 3.5LPA, but at the end you will be having a high paying job,so I believe it is totally worth it, but if infra and hostels are concerned it's surely not worth it.

Campus life is great when it's diffused with Chandigarh and its locality in Chandigarh, It is always fun working on any project in PEC, College is full with greenery and it feels like pollution free area.PEC can handle emergencies, as PGI is just behind the gate of PEC and other 4 hospitals and police stations are nearby.

Overall PEC is a great college to build your career.

Many will say infra is not good and like "dead infra", to some extent it's correct but I believe major things that are required for engineering are available here and everything is maintained properly, some f labs are old but there are many foreign country labs like siemens which is really built to some next level, and ECE, CSE, Data science are also built very well, civil department is very old and not furnished,Hostels are just like "you can live",food is improving nowadays.

I am in Electrical Engineering ,Again most of students don't like academic criteria of PEC but according to me its good, like we don't have much academic pressure if you know how to do smartwork(that you will come after dealing with seniors),Teachers are experienced but some teachers are like having great knowledge but they are unable to express ,PEC's own curriculum doesn't make you job ready but exposure of PEC will definitely make you ready for a high paying job

Placements are very highly intensified and are at par level with IITs, I am attaching an image having all placements statistics this year, so you will understand it better, as that not includes off campus placements so highest package offered off campus was 1.5cr per year to an electrical branch student.

PEC will cost you around 3.3L per year including everything like hostels, mess, academic fee if you are general category student, there are almost negligible scholarships on basis of economic background ,so it's quite expensive for a normal student to afford, but placements are very high so it's surely value for money.

Campus life is very hectic but at same time it's really joyful and you will enjoy it to fullest, You will not find a single day where PEC is not organizing an event, talking about general services like hospitals, gardens, lakes, malls everything is very near to PEC, the credit goes to Well planned city Chandigarh.
