Tezpur University boasts of having one of the region's best infrastructural facilities. Well equipped labs and classrooms with latest and state-of-the-art equipments, comfy boarding facilities and a self sustainable campus.
The curriculum are up-to-date and flexible. Students are encouraged to learn atleast one subject out of their domain (CBCT) . Being a Post Graduate Student I personally went for Basic German. Modularity of curriculum allows the student to take subjects from MOOCs or foreign partner universities and inside them in their credit score.
As a institute the North Eastern part of the country, the placements are encouraging, although they may not be at par with central universities in the mainland. A fairly handsome number of students get placed with a respectable package every. The job I am currently in is also a part of that.
Although the fees could be less, but the facilities and the campus life make up for it.
Campus Life is awesome in Tezpur University. It probably is one of the prettiest and most well maintained campus in India. You have ample scope and support to nurture your hobbies and passion. The greenery of the campus cheers you up and feels you up with energy everry morning
If given a chance I would again go back to Tezpur University, without a doubt.
Yes , the infrastructure is good with all essential facilities in TezpurUniversity. The classrooms are well maitained with smart boards and the whole campus is connected with wifi. There are 8 Women'shostels and 5 Men's hostel and 3 transit hostels with well maintained mess and common rooms .There is a Central Library and a Computer Centre which helps both the students and the faculties. The living spaces cleaned everyday by the maids and the foods are cooked with hygiene.
I am studying M.Com there. The quality of the teaching is good as the course syllabus is latest and updated. Also the teachers have good knowledge of their feild both theoretically and practically.I am not sure about the study whether it will make me job ready as I am still in 2nd Semester, but my department conducts several seminars and lectures which will help me in getting one in future. Also the assignments that are given in the form of presentations and field work will be great help for jobs.
There is no placements for M.Com students .Placements are good for the MBA and Engineering students .The M.Com and MBA Courses falls in the school of Management Sciences , but MBA graduates (almost 80%)are placed in good companies, not the M.Com graduates.Highest Salary offered for MBA's is nearly Rs.10,00,000.The Training and Placement Cell takes the responsibility for the students and makes the process easy.
My course costs 25,000 per year including the hostel fees. I do feel my money is getting worth as the course syllabus is updated which is helping me in knowing things better but since it does not provide direct placements so little worth of the money is lost.
Tezpur University provides best campus life for the teachers as well as students .There are quarters for the faculties .Health centre with specialized doctors , one bank along with 3 ATM's , a well maintained auditorium ,swimming pool , 2 playgrounds ,gymnasium , different stores for food and essentials are the basic necessities provided in the campus. Though the campus is 9 kms away from the main road but it is safe as it has all the necessary facilities for controlling emergencies
Till date my experience is very good .The Best part was the Versity Week days in our university.
The infrastructure of the university is good. We've a well equipped gym, sports center, basketball court, volleyball court, yoga sessions, and various clubs for music, art, dance, quiz etc. The hostels and departments are great with 24×7 wifi facility. We also have a swimming pool. The only issue with hostel is the lack of availability of hot water, we have to use iron rods which is a bit scary. Otherwise rest everything is good.
I'm a civil engineering student. I think the teachers and labs are pretty good. Our labs are well equipped. Of course there's always room for improvement but overall its pretty much okay. There are some exceptionally good professors and some not so good as well. It's a mix of both.
The placement scenario is not as good as IITs or NITs. Only a few students get good placement. Other wise it's not that good. Especially in our department, the placement scenario is pretty bad. But few of the departments like the Food tech have comparatively better placements
Since it's a central govt university so the fees isn't that high. Given the infrastructure and facilities, it is a value for money place. We pay approx 23k for one semester excluding the mess fees. Mess fee is taken in the hostel itself every month. Which is about 1400 to 1500 depending the prices of groceries.
Campus life is amazing. This would be the best aspect of our uni. The place is beautiful, with greenery everywhere. There's a bunch of activity to do in your free time. One can never get bored in our campus. The teachers and students share a close bond as all live together in the same campus. It has health centre as well and an ambulance service for students as well staff. The location is a little remote as it is away from the town but we're given bus services to go to town and return.
It's a safe and happy place to be in. Only if the placement scenario could be improved, I think TU would go places. One would love the hostel life more than anything. The varsity week is probably the best week of the year.
Yes, we have allthe necessary infrastructure facilities and equipment. We have very good Wifi connectivity. We also have smart classrooms and ICT Laboratory. Our living space is very clean and the food is very hygienic.
Presently I am pursuing Masters in Education because I am very interested in it and want to do research in the relevant field. Our curriculum is updated every 3 years as per UGC guidelines. Ofcourse my studies make me job- ready and we can become Teacher Educators.
Overall the University got a very good placement cell and students are getting suitable jobs. But, as our Department is not very old we are not getting that much exposure to the placements. But, the School of Engineering have better placements. I don't have much knowledge about the salary.
My course fee is approximately Rs. 23,000 per year. Yes ofcourse I am getting the money's worth because of the quality of Education and the other facilities provided.
The T.U campus is full of greenary. Students are free to move anywhere riding their bicycles. It also has two shopping areas. TU has a Central Library and maximum number of reading rooms for the students. But yes, the Monkeys trouble a lot. There are various academic, cultural and social activities where students engage in. Everyone in T.U are very helpful. The location is far from the city life. The campus is very safe. It has a health centre. Yes emergencies are handled very nicely.
The TU campus is one of the very beautiful campus in the North East India. It has a World Ranking for small Universities. Anyone who visits the University get lots of positive vibe and are mesmerized by its beauty. The Academic, cultural and social side is also very good.
very well in terms of infrastructure, green campus, overall facilities are amazing. once you enter the campus you willl lost in its beauty and purity of fresh air, best enviroment o learn and grow, overall it is amazing.
aviability of courses, waide variety of choices makes it exceptional among other uiversities, also this yaer two more new department were enstablished. making tezpur university a favorite choice for many students across india.
Overall placement at business administration is ok, some batches have had 100% placements records but then since last two years due to economis crisis, placements are low, other departent placments are also same, engeeniering department ahve had good placement records, linguistic department have had better placement records then universities other unversities in northeast.
In my university all the necessary facilities, equipments and infrastructure are there.also in classroom smart board, campus wifi are present and well maintained.the campus is clean, hygiene and beautiful.
TU is best for academic.it is best from reasearch point of view and so many opportunities are there for the students. I am studying m.tech in energy technology, because i want to learn and reasearch in this area.
Placement is not so good. But many companies have come for placement like IT companies for b.tech and m.tech. oil also was coming for placement. Since i am a first year student that's why it's difficult for me to give accurate review.
My course cost per year is almost 50000.i feel it worth because TU is a central university and for many students its a dream.
It's a most beautiful, clean and hygiene campus. So many activities are there for the students and also vehicles are not allowed for the students. that's why it's a pollution free campus and different types of flowers and trees are there.
It's a very good University, not only from academic side but also from activities side.
Tezpur University, located in Assam, offers a limited number of seats for students from the Northeastern region under a special quota, also known as the Northeast Quota . The quota is designed to encourage local students from the eight Northeastern states (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Sikkim) to pursue higher education in technical fields like B.Tech.
Given your JEE Main percentile of 74.934% and ST rank of 5757 , here’s how you can evaluate your chances for admission to Tezpur University:
A 74.934 percentile is a decent score but not a very high one. In general, top NITs and central universities have more competitive cutoffs. However, for universities like Tezpur University , the cutoff percentile might be somewhat lower, particularly under the Northeast quota.
Your ST rank of 5757 means you belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, which will give you a considerable advantage in terms of eligibility. Generally, candidates from the ST category have lower cutoff ranks compared to General Category students.
Tezpur University reserves a certain percentage of seats for candidates from the Northeastern states. Since you belong to the ST category, and assuming you are from one of the eight Northeastern states, you will be eligible for the Northeast Quota .
The cutoff for the Northeast quota can vary each year depending on the number of applicants, the difficulty level of JEE Main, and the availability of seats. Since your ST rank is 5757 , you may have a chance of securing admission, especially for branches with slightly lower demand.
Popular branches like Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Electronics usually have higher cutoffs, even under the Northeast quota. However, branches like Civil Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , and Electrical Engineering might have slightly lower cutoffs and could be more accessible with your rank.
Given your JEE score of 74.934 percentile and ST rank of 5757 , you have a reasonable chance of getting admission to Tezpur University under the Northeast Quota , especially for branches that are not as competitive. However, I recommend checking the specific cutoff trends from the previous years and confirming the current year's counseling and admission guidelines from Tezpur University’s official website or JoSAA counseling portal .
Tip : Stay updated with the counseling process and keep an eye on the opening and closing ranks during the counseling rounds for a more accurate picture of your chances.
Best of luck with your admission process!
