Have a question related to Tezpur University ?

Tezpur University under ne quota assam my rank is 5 lakh last year my friends got admitted in 4 lakh rank there same quota idk which branch what can I get ?

Your rank five lakh is too low for branches like CSE or ECE at Tezpur University under NE quota, because closing rank for CSE general quota was about 61140 and for ECE about 72944 in 2025 round six, mechanical closed at 86155, and civil was beyond that. So with rank 500000 your chance is almost none to get environmental courses there under NE quota. You may consider alternative colleges or try repeat exam.

1, Tezpur University all India cutoff round six closing ranks general quota: CSE 61140, ECE 72944, EE 78802, ME 86155, Civil beyond 90000

I got gkciet I don't like the college I have paid saf in round 6 I am considering to widraw to avoid paying paf as it is non refundable . In csab I want to participate do I need to pay saf again there ? Also I have ne quota for Tezpur University I have rank of 460k and 160K obc ncl can I get tu any branch under ne quota which branches I can get please help me?

    Hello

    About CSAB SAF Payment:

Since you already paid SAF in JoSAA Round 6, you don't need to pay SAF again in CSAB Special Rounds.

You can directly use that payment to participate in CSAB.

About Withdrawing to Avoid Paying PAF:

Yes, withdrawing before paying PAF is smart if you don’t want to join GKCiet and want to avoid non-refundable PAF.

This will allow you to participate in CSAB without losing PAF money.

Tezpur University Admission through NE Quota:

    Your rank: CRL: 460k

    OBC-NCL Rank: 160k

With these ranks, it is very difficult to get CSE or ECE at Tezpur University, even under the North East (NE) quota.

You might have a slight chance for Food Engineering and Technology or lower-demand branches (like Mechanical or Energy) under NE + OBC quota . if vacant seats remain in CSAB.

Can I get in Tezpur University B Tech under northeast quota. My jee score is 74.934 percentile and I have ST Rank 5757.

Tezpur University, located in Assam, offers a limited number of seats for students from the Northeastern region under a special quota, also known as the Northeast Quota . The quota is designed to encourage local students from the eight Northeastern states (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Sikkim) to pursue higher education in technical fields like B.Tech.

Given your JEE Main percentile of 74.934% and ST rank of 5757 , here’s how you can evaluate your chances for admission to Tezpur University:

JEE Main Percentile and ST Category

    • A 74.934 percentile is a decent score but not a very high one. In general, top NITs and central universities have more competitive cutoffs. However, for universities like Tezpur University , the cutoff percentile might be somewhat lower, particularly under the Northeast quota.

    • Your ST rank of 5757 means you belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, which will give you a considerable advantage in terms of eligibility. Generally, candidates from the ST category have lower cutoff ranks compared to General Category students.

    Admission Under Northeast Quota

    • Tezpur University reserves a certain percentage of seats for candidates from the Northeastern states. Since you belong to the ST category, and assuming you are from one of the eight Northeastern states, you will be eligible for the Northeast Quota .

    • The cutoff for the Northeast quota can vary each year depending on the number of applicants, the difficulty level of JEE Main, and the availability of seats. Since your ST rank is 5757 , you may have a chance of securing admission, especially for branches with slightly lower demand.

    Branch Availability

    • Popular branches like Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Electronics usually have higher cutoffs, even under the Northeast quota. However, branches like Civil Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , and Electrical Engineering might have slightly lower cutoffs and could be more accessible with your rank.

    Conclusion

Given your JEE score of 74.934 percentile and ST rank of 5757 , you have a reasonable chance of getting admission to Tezpur University under the Northeast Quota , especially for branches that are not as competitive. However, I recommend checking the specific cutoff trends from the previous years and confirming the current year's counseling and admission guidelines from Tezpur University’s official website or JoSAA counseling portal .

Tip : Stay updated with the counseling process and keep an eye on the opening and closing ranks during the counseling rounds for a more accurate picture of your chances.

Best of luck with your admission process!
