Shortlisting Process

COMPOSITE SCORE will be calculated with due weights to

Applicants will be shortlisted based on the composite score. Relaxation for all categories according to GOI norms will be followed.

Final Selection

Candidates from all categories shortlisted based on the composite score shall be called for a Written Ability Test(WAT) and Personal Interview(PI) to a given location

The final selection will be based on the following with due weights to each of the components:

IBSAT 2026

IBSAT is an online aptitude test conducted by The ICFAI Foundation For Higher Education (a deemed to be a University under Section 3 of UGC act 1956), for students seeking admission to the MBA / PhD programs of IBS Bengaluru and IBS Hyderabad.

IBSAT is a computer-based test (CBT) that consists of multiple-choice questions. IBSAT is of 2 hours duration and is aimed at testing the applicant's ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.

GMAT^TM/ NMAT by GMAC^TM/CAT/XAT scores (from 2024 onwards) are also accepted in place of IBSAT 2026. Candidates with GMAT^TM, NMAT by GMAC^TM CAT and XAT scores are exempted from IBSAT 2026.

IBS Admissions are open through CAT/NMAT by GMAC™/XAT/GMAT™ scores only.
Last Date December 2026.

The ICFAI University, Dehradun, The ICFAI University, Jaipur and The Icfaian Foundation accept IBSAT 2026 / GMAT^TM/ NMAT by GMAC^TM/CAT/XAT scores (from 2024 onwards) for admission to the following programs:

• MBA program offered by IBS Dehradun and IBS Jaipur.
• PGPM (Post Graduate Program in Management) program offered by IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Kolkata, IBS Mumbai and IBS Pune.

Selection Process

Candidates who have qualified based on IBSAT 2025/ GMAT^TM /NMAT by GMAC^TM/CAT/XAT score are called for the selection process.
This process is scheduled to take place from February 2027, at the IBS Hyderabad campus in Hyderabad.
The selection process comprises of Micro Presentation and Personal Interview.

The Micro-Presentation component aims to provide a focused assessment of a candidate's communication and presentation skills, along with their ability to think and organize thoughts quickly.

Regular Candidates

• A valid score in the Common Admissions Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.
• Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognized by the UGC) in any discipline with first-class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PD) earned in their degree from a recognized/reputed University.
• Final year students (of the above-mentioned programme) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and will produce the provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program. 
• IIT Graduates who have obtained a CGPA of 8 and above on 10 are exempted from CAT score.

Sponsored Candidates

• Company Sponsored Candidates
• To be sponsored by their employers and forward their application through proper channel.
• Minimum work experience of two years in the sponsoring organization.
• Valid score in the Common Admissions Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.
• Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognized by the UGC) in any discipline with first class or 60% marks (earned in their degree from a recognized/reputed University.

Defense Personnel

• Defense personnel are exempted from the national level entrance test. Should apply through respective government agencies.
• Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognized by the UGC) in any discipline with 55% marks (earned in their degree from a recognized/reputed University.

Non-Resident Indian and Foreign Nationals

• Valid GMAT Score
• Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognized by the UGC) in any discipline with first class or 60% marks earned in their degree from a recognized/reputed University
• Final year students (of the above mentioned programme) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all

• Graduation (any discipline) with 50% and above marks with medium of instruction as English.
• All applicants should have completed a minimum of 15 years of education (on 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis)
• Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation have to submit the TOEFL/ NELT/IELTS score by May 31, 2027.
• Applicants in their final year bachelor’s degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements (including practical examinations / viva / assignments) before May 31, 2027.
• The admission will remain provisional until they produce marks sheets and degree certificates establishing their
  eligibility. The last date for submission of proof of graduation is November 01, 2027.
• Eligibility criteria will be checked from August, 2027 onwards. Hence, the onus of ensuring that they satisfy the
  eligibility criteria rests solely with the candidates.
