Eligibility is graduation, but many of them who undertake the course are postgraduates. They are admitted into the college according to the seats allotted in each discipline by the government Complying with the G.O issued by the state Govt. The current allotment is 20 percent for Social Studies Methodology, 30 percent for Biological Science, 35 percent for Mathematics, and 15 percent for Physical Science.

• A pass in the qualifying degree examination i.e. BA/B.Sc /B.,Com /B.Sc (Home Science)/ BCA and BBM with an aggregate of 45% marks and above in Part II (Group subjects). However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, a mere pass is sufficient. Further, 
• The candidates with the following background are Not Eligible to apply – B.E /B.Tech /M.B.B.S / B.V.Sc./ BHMT /B.Pharmacy and such other professional and job oriented courses. Candidates with Master’s Degree without undergraduate study are also Not Eligible.
