The candidate should Pass in PUC (10+2) or its equivalent examination with 50% aggregate marks with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects – Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, and the candidate shall have studied and passed in English as one of the subjects.
The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre University or XII standard or equivalent examinations held preceding the date of entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and shall have secured not less than Forty Five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects, with English as one of the languages, for admission to Engineering & Technology Courses.
Provided further that the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be Forty percent (40%) of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the **Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Engineering and Technology Courses.
For Lateral Entry-Candidates who have passed a three-year Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in the final year are eligible for lateral entry. As part of their course, such candidates will have to study additional subjects as prescribed by the University.
Admission Through COMEDK- The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre University or XII standard or equivalent examinations held preceding the date of entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and shall have secured not less than Forty Five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects, with English as one of the languages, for admission to Engineering & Technology Courses.
All the Karnataka Christian Students who wish to take admission at St Joseph Engineering College are required to appear for this year’s COMEDK examination. Christian Students will be given preference while counseling, as it enjoys Christian Minority status in the state of Karnataka.
