Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
The qualifying examination is the 2nd PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by the State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
General Merit Candidate should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Karnataka state) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory along with Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as one the subjects. However, changes if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
