The admission to the B.Tech Degree course must have passed or appeared in 10+2 (Higher Secondary or equivalent examination) with English and with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC candidates) in Physics and Mathematics (Compulsory) along with Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biology/Technical Vocational Subjects (Engineering Drawing/Computer Science) taken together for being eligible. If at the time of admission, the results of 10 + 2 (Higher Secondary or equivalent examination) are not declared, the applicant has to give an undertaking that if he/she fails to pass the examination, he/she will withdraw his/her name from the Institution.
For Admission to First Year B.TechCandidates should :a) Passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalentexamination from a recognized Council/Board with:b) Individual pass marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology.c) Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC candidates) as well as a pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.d) The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.12.2017. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the WBJEE – 2017. A candidate born on or after 01.01.2000 is not eligible to appear in the WBJEE -2017e) Must qualify/pass in English at 10+2 level.f) Must have any valid WBJEE or JEE(Main) rank.
For Admission to Second Year B.Tech (Lateral Entry)Admission through the Lateral Entry Scheme shall be made strictly based on current year merit and the preference of candidates in the Common Entrance Examination for admission through the Lateral Entry Scheme (i.e., JELET) conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, or 50% marks in the overall semester for direct admission.
