There is common counselling for admission to MBBS Course on the basis of merit list of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) and is done under the overall supervision of State Government. Admission to MBBS Course is strictly done as per MCI guidelines. Admission, Selection, Counselling is done as per qualification in terms of gazette notification that appears from time to time.
No Candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the Medical Curriculum proper of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Course until:
1. He/she completes 17 years of age on or before 31 December of the year of admission to the MBBS Course.
2. To be eligible for admission to MBBS course, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio-technology at the final examination of the Pre University Course or its equivalent. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Bio-technology taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 40% instead of 50%.
