The minimum eligibility criteria for admission in MBA programme is graduation in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate. Students in the final year of their graduation can also apply subject to the condition that they must produce the evidence of the required qualification on or before the prescribed scheduled date if selected. The reservation policy of the state government shall be strictly followed. Further, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their score in CAT / XAT / CMAT / MAT / ATMA (anyone), past academic record, relevant work experience and the performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be organized by the Institute. In all matters relating to admission to the programme, the decision of the Institute will be final and binding on the applicants.
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent [CGPA 45% in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Candidates appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, it may be noted that such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution (issued on or before the date as stipulated by IIM Ranchi at the time of registration) stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
Admissions for such candidates will be confirmed only when the candidate submits the mark- sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university with at least 50% marks (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category). It is mandatory for a final-year student, who is provisionally admitted, to submit the mark sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor’s degree examination held on or before a date as specified by the Academic Programme Office at the time of registration (including supplementary, if any), to be eligible for admission. The deadline for submission of the mark sheet and the certificate will be provided by the Academic Programme Office at the time of registration. Non-fulfilment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission. IIM Ranchi would not allow any candidate to join the Programme in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor’s degree on or before the date as specified by the Academic Programme office at the time of registration. IIM Ranchi may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, maybe even after the students have been admitted and classes have started.
