A candidate for admission to the B.A.LL.B.(Honours) must have –(a) Passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination securing in aggregate not less than 45% (General Category) or 40% (SC/ST and OBC Category) of the total marks. Those who will be passing their Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examinations this year can go through the selection process and seek provisional admission.(b) Not completed 20 years of age as on 1st July or as shall be prescribed by the Bar Council of India for that academic session. In case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, a relaxation of two years in age shall be admissible as per the Bar Council of India rules, 2008. In exceptional and deserving cases, the upper age limit may be relaxed by the Director at Kolkata.
Candidate should have passed Senior School Certificate Examination(10+2 system) or equivalent Examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Age should not be more than 20 years in the case of general candidates and 22 years for SC/ST/OBC category as of 1st of July in the year of appearing in the Examination (subject to University of North Bengal and Bar Council of India norms).No age bar for Foreign National Students.
