    What is the full form of RPSC RAS?

    The full form of RPSC RAS is Rajasthan Public Service Commission Rajasthan Administrative Services the recruiting body for the state of Rajasthan. The commission will fulfil the vacancies every year through various exams for the posts which are to be filled in the state government offices and departments. Like APPSC, TSPSC and BPSC, MPSC and KPSC etc,. It is also a state recruiting authority of Rajasthan to conduct various examinations.

    What is RPSC?

    RPSC stands for Rajasthan Public Service Commission. It is a constitutional body that recruits officers or Gazetted posts to the Rajasthan state for the various departments and positions at the state level. RPSC was formed in 1949. It has been for more than 70 years. Initially, it had a chairman and 2 members. CJI S. K. Ghosh was appointed as Chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and the two members Shri Devi Shankar Tiwari and Shri N. R. Chandorkar were appointed Members and Shri S. C. Tripathi (I.E.S), formerly a member of the UPSC was appointed as Chairman. Currently, the chairman of RPSC is Shri Sanjay Kumar Shrotriya.

    About RPSC RAS

    Rajasthan Public Service Commission is a government recruiting body for the various posts at Rajasthan state offices. It was established on 22 December 1949. It recruits various posts through its Annual Calendar. It recruits for Gazetted and non-gazetted posts in various departments and ministries. It releases notifications/advertisements for all types of Group-A, Group-B, Group-C and Group-D posts, Teaching posts, clerical posts etc.

    The Rajasthan Public Service Commission is run by the state Government of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Administrative Service is the highest post in the RPSC. That's why many candidates choose this, to reach a higher position in their life. The RPSC RAS examinations are conducted once a year. It fulfils most of the aspirant's Dreams every year who wants to do service for the people. Through this recruitment, the RPSC will fill Group-I or Group-A and also some subordinate vacancies. The RAS recruitment will be held in three stages; preliminary test(objective), mains(descriptive) and interview/personality test. Any graduate from the state of Rajasthan can be eligible for this RAS examination. About 3 lakh candidates (approx 50%) appeared for this RPSC RAS preliminary exam in 2021 out of 6 lakh applicants who registered(approx).

    RPSC RAS Eligibility

    Age Limit:

    The minimum age limit is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 40 years. The age criteria for non-gazetted officers is a minimum of 25 years and a maximum is 40 years.

    Age limit relaxation is also given to some candidates based on their social, physical or gender stature as follows:

    Educational Qualifications:

    The candidate must have completed any Bachelor’s Degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government in consultation with the Commission.

    Exam Pattern

    The RPSC RAS Examination will be held in three stages:

    1. Preliminary Examination

    2. Main Examination

    3. Interview/Personality test

    Preliminary examination(Prelims):

    • The Preliminary Examination has one paper on the subject specified below, which will be of objective type and carry a maximum of 200 marks. The examination is meant to serve as a screening test only.

    • The Standard of the paper will be that of a Bachelor‟s Degree Level.

    • The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates, who are declared qualified for admission to Main Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

    Main examination(Mains):

    • The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be 15 times the total number of vacancies to be filled in the year in the examination but in the said range all those candidates who secure the same marks as may be fixed by the Commission for any lower range will be admitted to the Main Examination.

    • The written examination will consist of the following four papers which will be descriptive/analytical.

    • The mains exam is done for a total of 800 marks.

    • A candidate must take all the papers listed below which will also consist of question of brief, medium, long answer and descriptive type questions.

    • The standard of General Hindi and General English is from class 12th. The time allowed for each paper shall be 3 hours.

    Interview/Personality test:

    The Candidates must qualify for the mains examination to shortlist for the personality and viva voce examination which carries 100 marks.

    Important instructions:

    • In all papers, answers are to be written either in Hindi or in English, but no candidate shall be permitted to answer any paper partly in Hindi and partly in English (mixed languages) unless specifically allowed to do so.

    • If a candidate’s handwriting is not clear to read, a deduction will be made on this account from the total marks otherwise accruing to him.

    • Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression and maintenance of word limit in all subjects of the examination.
