Hello there,
Securing a 40 percentile in the JEE Main exam indicates that approximately 60% of candidates scored higher than you. Admission to the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) is primarily based on JEE Main ranks. While specific cutoff details for IUST are not publicly available, it's important to note that a 40 percentile may be below the typical threshold for engineering programs.
Recommendations:
Contact IUST Admissions:
Reach out directly to IUST's admissions office to inquire about the current year's cutoff and your chances of admission.
Consider State-Level Counseling:
Explore state engineering counseling processes, as some state colleges may have different cutoff criteria.
Alternative Institutions:
Research other universities or colleges with engineering programs that may have more accommodating cutoff scores.
Improvement Exams: If feasible, consider retaking the JEE Main to improve your score and enhance your admission prospects.
Admission criteria can vary annually based on factors like seat availability, applicant performance, and institutional policies. Engaging directly with the university and exploring multiple avenues will provide a clearer path forward.
I would recommend you to use JEE Mains College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
Hi
hope you doing well
For other branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical with 68.98 percentile in JEE Mains 2024 , you may have a better chance to get admission in Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir . but for branches like CSE or ECE, which are more competitive
you may have a better chance. IUST primarily considers JEE Mains scores and also offers seats through state counseling, so you should definitely participate in the counseling process to explore your chances.
Best wishes.
