Ananya Hira 19th Jun, 2026

With a GMR 37,664 and SC rank 4,118, your admission chances depend mainly on the GMR (General Merit Rank) during WBJEE counselling, because the published opening/closing ranks are generally reported in GMR even for reserved-category seats.

wbjee 2026 , GMR rank 65k and sc rank 7663 can i got any government college?

Ananya Hira 19th Jun, 2026

With a GMR around 65,000 and SC rank 7,663 , getting a seat in the most sought-after government colleges and branches (CSE, IT, ECE at KGEC/JGEC/JU) is unlikely. Hello Dear Student,

Based on the 2026 expected cutoffs and 2024 closing ranks from Careers360, a rank of 87,064 is generally outside the range for top-tier government colleges like Jadavpur University or Kalyani Government Engineering College, which typically close under rank 5,000–20,000 for most branches.

I got about 20 marks in wbjee. I am an SC category student, so which branch will I get?

Samyak Jain 1st Jun, 2026

Hello Dear Student,

With 20 marks in WBJEE and the benefit of the SC category, you may have opportunities in several engineering colleges through counselling.

Some possible options include:

  • Cooch Behar Government Engineering College – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical

  • Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) – Core engineering branches

  • Jalpaiguri Government Engineering

Hello Dear Student,

With 62% in CBSE , you may not meet eligibility for many NITs/IIITs/GFTIs through JoSAA, but you still have good options for CSE through private colleges and state counselling.

Based on your scores:

  • COMEDK (40 marks): You can target tier-2/tier-3 Karnataka colleges like:
    • Acharya Institute of Technology
