Wbjee give preferrences to state quota , if you have then it will be really beneficial for you.

Yes the closing rank is true. It basically is the rank of the last person entering into that specific course or college after which no more seats were available or candidate list exhausted. It combined with the opening rank gives students the idea if they have a chance

No. The counselling for WBJEE is conducted centrally. Only, after the 3rd round of centralised counselling is complete, Jadavpur University conducts its own counselling session to fill up the remaining vacant seats ( if any ). And for that purpose, advertisements are put up in all leading news paper.

As per the previous year rank cut off you can't get JU because of JU end rank lies under 1000 and your rank is very far then that so honestly don't expect you will get JU, But you have gone for other colleges because you have domicile of West Bengal
