for Science students who go for arts courses in DU it depends on your subjects and the course you select. If you've studied the subject in your 12th there will be no deduction for example English or Hindi if you had these in your 12th then without any deduction

The eligibility for Political Science(Hons.) is minimum 50% marks in +2 with English as one of the core subjects.

As it happens to be that you have all the requisites, you are eligible for admission in Punjab University Political Science(Hons.).

As you have mentioned you have recently passed class 10 from CBSE boards and want to take humanities for 10+2.

to clarify things there is no such thing like institute like thing in CBSE rather schools which offer humanities after 10th.
