Hyy which course is better in future bsc microbiology vs biophysics vs molecular biology vs forensic science to become a scientist.

Mayank Chowdhary 28th Jul, 2020

Hello,

All the courses are good in terms of research so now you have to make a choice regarding your interests. Though I would say that Molecular biology and Microbiology is a good choice because it will extend your horizon of knowledge and also these fields are dynamic. So you can get admission into colleges like IITs and IISc so that you get a good research environment where you will do research and pursue your dream. Though the choice is yours. All the best to you.

hii mam my brother got 20 marks out of 60 in intermediate first year and also just pass marks in second year 20 in physics 20 in chemistry 20 in zoology 20 in biology will he eligible to neet in 2021

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 27th Jul, 2020

Sneha, 1st Intermedicate marks are not considered for NEET. To be eligible for NEET, you should have completed your 12th, passed in all subjects and secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. It is 50% for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC,SC,ST. Now if you belong to OBC Category, the Category you belong to should be also listed in the Central OBC list. Or else you will be considered as General Category and so you have to secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. This 50% is inclusive of the Theory and Practical marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Biology collectively. You needn't score 50% in Physics, 50% in Chemistry and 50% in Biology separately. You need an aggregate of 50% or 40% depending on your Category as an aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. And along with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, you should also have studied English as one of the core subjects in your 12th. Let's say your brother scored 20 out of 60 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology in theory, he should have also scored some marks in Practicals right? If he belongs to General Category and if he has scored atleast 30 in each of the Practicals, then he can be considered eligible for NEET. He will only need 20 out of 40 in each of the subjects, if he belongs to OBC Category.

hii mam, my brother got 358 marks in intermediate all the physics chemistry and biology are just compartment marks (20/60) Wii he eligible for neet...

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 27th Jul, 2020

Sneh, you haven't mentioned your Category.  Now if your brother has scored 20/60 in theory he should also have been marked for Practicals right? Because to be eligible for NEET, you should have completed your 12th, passed in all subjects and secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. So out of the remaining 40 for Practicals, even if he has scored more than 30 in each subject and the score totals to atleast 150 out of 300 including theory and practicals, your brother can be considered eligible for NEET. So can you please help us with Individual marks in both theory and practicals and your Category please?

if i am a student of intermediate from mathematics then what will be the syllabus for nda exam? will biology of intermediate also included in the syllabus???

Sharon Rose Student Expert 27th Jul, 2020

Hello,

There are two sections in NDA entrance exam

1. Mathematics

2. General Ability

Under general ability there are sub-sections which are as follows

  • Section A- Physics
  • Section-B-Chemistry
  • Section C- General Science
  • Section D-History, freedom movement etc
  • Section E- Geography
  • Section F- Current Affairs

Under General Science you have topics like

  • Difference between the living and non-living.
  • The Solar System: Meteors and Comets, Eclipses. Achievements of Eminent Scientists.
  • Basis of Life—Cells, Protoplasms and Tissues.
  • Elementary knowledge of Human Body and its important organs.
  • Food: Source of Energy for man. Constituents of food, Balanced Diet.
  • Common Epidemics, their causes and prevention.
  • Growth and Reproduction in Plants and Animals.
  • Food: Source of Energy for man. Constituents of food, Balanced Diet.

So under Section-C in General Ability you will have Biology but it is not Intermediate level. These are basic topics which you should learn. To prepare for General Studies you can refer NCERT Science Textbook from class 6-class 10. That is enough because GS carries 10% of weightage.
