Team Careers360 25th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 40,000

Solution :

Answer = Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 40,000

Total No. of shares applied by X = 25,000/20,000 x 4,000 = 5,000 shares.

(i)

Calculation of amount due but not paid on allotment by X:

Rs.

Application money received from X (5,000 ×  Rs. 6)

30,000

Less: Application money due on shares allotted (4,000 ×  Rs. 6)

24,000

Excess application money adjusted on allotment

6,000

Allotment money due on shares (4,000 x  Rs. 4)

16,000

Less: Excess application money adjusted on allotment

6,000

Allotment amount due but not received from X

10,000

(ii)

Calculation of allotment money received later

Total allotment money due (20,000 ×  Rs. 4)

Less: Allotment money already received

80,000

on application stage (5,000 ×  Rs. 6)

30.000

50.000

Less: Allotment amount due but not received from X [as per (i)]

10,000

Allotment money received

40,000

Hence, the correct option is 1.

how should I made a strategy preparation for clat which types of books, and which subject I should start first

Mahak Yadav 18th Dec, 2024

To prepare for CLAT effectively, start with the subject you find most challenging, often Legal Reasoning or English , and focus on building a strong foundation. For English, read Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis and newspapers like The Hindu for comprehension practice. For Current Affairs and GK, follow Manorama Yearbook and GKToday. Use Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning by A.P. Bhardwaj for Legal Reasoning and R.S. Aggarwal for Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. Dedicate daily time to reading newspapers, solving comprehension-based questions, and practicing mock tests weekly to improve speed and accuracy. Analyze your performance in mocks to work on weak areas, and maintain consistency with 6–8 hours of study per day.

Question : Study the given bar graph and answer the question that follows.
The bar graph shows the distance (in km) between two cities and the speeds (in km/hr) of a person to cover the respective distances.

What is the approximate average speed of the person while travelling from city A to city F?

Option 1: 28.55 km/hr

Option 2: 23.60 km/hr

Option 3: 21.78 km/hr

Option 4: 19.47 km/hr

Team Careers360 20th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: 21.78 km/hr

Solution : Use the formula, $\text{Average speed}=\frac{\text{Total distance}}{\text{Total Time taken}}$
The time needed to go from city A to city B $=\frac{80}{16}=5$ hours
The time needed to go from city B to city C $=\frac{120}{40}=3$ hours
The time needed to go from city C to city D $=\frac{90}{20}=4.5$ hours
The time needed to go from city D to city E $=\frac{60}{30}=2$ hours
The time needed to go from city E to city  F $=\frac{42}{12}=3.5$ hours
The total distance from City A to City F = 80 + 120 + 90 + 60 + 42 = 392 km
The total time to cover city A-F = 5 + 3 + 4.5 + 2 + 3.5 = 18 hours
The approximate average speed of the person while travelling from city A to city F
$=\frac{392}{18}=21.78$ km/hr
Hence, the correct answer is 21.78 km/hr.
