The cutoff marks for IISER depends on various factors like -
  • Number of candidates appearing.
  • No. of seats available.
  • Difficulty level of the exam.
  • Your Board or council.

I will mention the cutoff marks out of 500 for CBSE students who belong to OBC-NCL caste- 420.

Yes, definitely you can persue phd in Physics after completing b.tech and m.tech degrees.
There are many reputed colleges in India and abroad that allows Engineers to persue doctorate degree in physics.
So you can choose to do Engineering first and then do phd in physics.

IISER Pune would be the best choice for dual degree in physics since in NIRF Ranking it comes on one of the top institutes as well as it is one of the few researched based institutes in the country.
