I hope that this will help.
1. If you want to do the course in Astronomy, then going for the course of MSc Astronomy after your BSc Physics will be a better choice. Now if you do a PhD in Astronomy, then also you will be called as a Astronomer.
2. ISRO, hire research fellows in Radio Astronomy sector, but recruiting Astronomer is a less often case and no records are there on the ICRB website.
3. Getting ISRO is hard, but if you go for the course of MTech in Solid State Physics or MTech in Optoelectronics after your MSc Physics (through GATE & Interview) then you will be able to get directly placed as an Scientist at ISRO directly. Apart from this for being Astronomical Researcher you can apply in IUCAA/ ISRO/National Centre for Radio Astronomy & then can join some way at ISRO, but there are no information available regarding the recruitment of Astronomer on the official website of ICRB.
4. At Masters level, only IIT Indore offers the MSc Astronomy course through IIT JAM Physics examination. Apart from this you can apply for Integrated PhD or PhD program through NET/GATE/TIFR-GS/JEST at:

In ISRO there is very rare chance to become scientist after msc chemistry more jobs available for b.tech and msc physics students.applications invited for Msc chemistry scientist post released once in a while on ISRO website under section vacancies.
A written test is conducted by ISRO for the scientist post followed by personal interview and one thing which is considered for final selection is your academic record.
Hope it helps!!
Hello, I hope you are doing well
Yes, you are eligible. The entrance exam is open for post graduates, B. Tech/ B.E. Engineers and Ph.D. too for recruitment process in Scientist B rank.
Moreover if your Ph.D. projects have got something related to on going projects of ISRO, that would give you an upper hand. The promotion statistics are generally more in the favor of Ph.D. scientists due to their industry experience and their field applications.
Hope this helps
