Joint Admission Test for M.Sc Programmes
Hi,Yes you can pursue iit jam chemistry. And give other entrance exams for M.Sc chemistry also.
IIT jam is conducted for admissions to M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc. Programmes at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc. The eligibility to apply for jam exam is 55%, or 5.55 out of 10 aggregate marks in their qualifying degree.
For iit jam chemistry a candidate need to possess Chemistry as a subject for three years/six semesters.
Similarly a candidate with chemistry as subject of study in bsc can apply for jnu and bhu msc entrance exam.
Hope this helps.
Hello Mohan
If you Consider last year cutoffs then you can get these IIT's with 464 rank:
IIT Kharagpur (Joint MSc - PhD) - Medical Physics
IIT Indore - MSc Physics (Very Less Chance)
IIT Jodhpur - MSc Physics
IIT Bhillai - MSc Physics
IIT Patna - MSc Physics
IIT Pallakad - MSc Physics.
Swapnamoy, Although, it is very difficult to predict the cutoffs and the predicted rank of IIT JAM Physics, but we can make use of previous year trends to calculate the expected rank and cutoff. With respect to the cutoff, it is a big possibility that you would clear the cutoff irrespective of your category as many coaching institutions predict it to be around 16-18. However, predicting the rank is a bit more difficult as it also depends on factors like total number of candidates and difficulty level of exam which varies every year. However, looking at past few years trends , you can expect a rank close to 300, maybe even less than that based on the variables as described earlier.
Dear sir,
Sorry you can not eligible for admission, because the cut off is 33.65 for general category.
Thanking you

Yes according to the guidelines provided by JAM examination committee, no correction in the application form will be accepted after the admit card has been released and that has already happened. So yes in such a case you are liable to not get selected even if you pass the examination and qualified because of error in application during admission process. You can try to contact the authorities and try to make your point. Nothing else can be done otherwise
