neet exam is on 5th may how i appear in mah cet. i am from mp. exam date of mah cet is 2 to 13 may. how should i manage!

Sarah Khan 9th Mar, 2019

Hello Ravi

It surely must be tough and mentally very drilling time for you. The only thing that matters at this moment is to keep calm and utilize your energy into giving an extraordinary result.

NEET exam was inititaed as "one exam for all" by the govt for undergraduate and postgraduate seats in medical and dental streams all over India. MH CET is Maharashtra state govt. entrance test for medical and dental courses. State Maharashtra still hold their seats in medical stream unlike Madhya Pradesh and many other states.

SYLLABUS:

MH CET exams are solely based on 12th board syllabus of physics, chemistry and biology while NEET in addition to 12th board's syllabus has a vast curriculum. If you are prepared thoroughly for NEET then you can easily appear in an exam like MH CET. The key to good rank and score is revision not one not twice but many times.

Some important topics for MH CET are mentioned below:

  • BIOLOGY:

1. The living world.

2. Biological classifications.

3. Plant kingdom.

4. Animal kingdom.

  • PHYSICS:

1. Physical world and measurement.

2. Kinematics.

3. Laws of motions.

4. Work, energy and power.

  • CHEMISTRY:

1. Derivatives of alkanes, fluorine and hydrigen fluoride.

2. Synthetic fibres.

3. Third row elements.

MARKING SCHEME:

The marking scheme for the two exams are:

NEET= +4 and -1

MH CET= No negative marking.

PATTERN:

NEET: 180 questions of 4 marks each which totals to 720 marks.

MH CET: 200 questions of 1 mark each which totals to 200 marks.

In comparison to the difficulty level in both the examinations then undoubtedly NEET is much more tougher than MH CET. The difficulty level of NEET is 35% more then MH CET. Also if you aim for NEET then you can surely qualify CET. The competition is ever increasing but at the same time, with the number of resources available and the ease with which they can be availed does prove to be a blessing in disguise.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

Shravan Hari 7th Apr, 2019

Hi Mahesh, the cutoff varies every year based on various factors like number of test takers, number of seats available, difficulty level of exams etc. However going by the previous year cutoffs, there are high chances for Welingkar as their cutoff is around 97 percentile. The chances for Sydneham is like having good to better chances, but it is not having high chances for this percentile.
