The caste certificate that i have is SBC issued by Maharashtra state. will i have to separately produce SBC/OBC central caste certificate or the one which i already have will work? I want to apply for central government jobs and there is no option for SBC category.

Bhavesh gupta 28th Apr, 2022

Hi Aspirant,

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you as in all India exams for admissions  so you need to submit central O.B.C category certificate at the time of counselling or admissions as state O.B.C category certificate will not be eligible for the same during central government exams or counselling. You need to have central category certificate to get admissions in central government colleges and state certificate for admissions in state     government colleges.

Hope you found this answer useful. Stay motivated stay positive.

i am a obc student from Maharashtra and my mothers domicile was Karnataka..can i get admission for mbbs in Karnataka through AIQ in govt college as karnataka is a open state

Karishma Sawhney 5th Jun, 2022

Hello aspirant,

To participate in the MCC's counseling process, that is, through the All India Quota, we do not have to see whether one has a domicile of that state or not. You can select and lock all the government colleges' names in Karnataka. Also, there is no limit to the number of colleges you can select.

Secondly, to clarify things better, you only need a domicile for state quota counseling to avail the 85% state quota. Every state opens their NEET state counseling procedure at different dates. However, for the 15% All India Quota, you do not need a domicile. So, if you are an OBC student who is domiciled in Maharashtra, you can participate in Maharashtra's state counseling (to benefit from the 85% state quota) and if you wish to go for government colleges in Karnataka, you can do so by All India Quota (where you have 15% reservation). However, if you want to take admission in private colleges in Karnataka, you will have to participate in Karnataka's state counseling (where again you do not need a domicile but only have 15% reservation).

Hope it helps!
