Mechanical Engineering
Hi,
The previous year's cutoff score for the Mechanical Engineering discipline at Bits Hyderabad Campus was around 270. It's possible that the cut-off will be raised or lowered. It will be quite tough for you to get into the mechanical branch, but you can try your luck in the final rounds of admissions.
Despite the epidemic, BITS Pilani placements increased by 21%. The median income in 2021 was a good 13 lakh, with an average CTC of around 16 lakh per annum and a maximum CTC of 45 lakh per annum that stayed relatively unchanged from the previous year.
So yes its well worth to take admission in BITs Pillani Hyderabad Campus. If we talk about dual degree its your choice like you have to give one more year for your graduation just like IITs and its well worth.
Hope this information helps.
Good Luck.
Hi Madhav!
Most of the companies (especially IT companies) allows students of every branch to sit in the placement process. To mention the names, For mechanical engineering in BITS , the recruiting companies are BHEL, ISRO, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Maruti and Ashok Leyland . Other than this, students are allowed to sit in other companies such as Microsoft, Bajaj, Birla, Wipro, Dell, Amazon, LTI, Uber etc. It depends on your skills and knowledge that how you crack the interview.
Thankyou!
Hi Anirudha,
The candidates who have passed class 10th or 12th can apply for admission to Diploma in Engineering .
But, as you've already completed your +2, it will be my advice to apply directly for a B. Tech instead of a Diploma.
Anyhow, after completing a degree in Diploma, you can go for B. Tech which will collectively take 6 years to complete your engineering (3 years diploma + 3 years B. Tech)
Hope this was helpful.
With Rank of 8.6k in WBJEE and a SC Rank of 563, provided youre a West Bengal Domicile Student, you have low to moderate chances of securing a seat in Jadavpur in Metallurgical, Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. You however have fair chances of securing branches like Printing, Power and Food Technology. JU is perhaps the Second best Engineering Institution in West Bengal after IIT KGP, having excellent faculty, infrastructure and placements.
Yes, you are eligible. But I would rather suggest you to either pursue a Lateral Entry/Part Time B.Tech Degree or an Associate Degree (A.M.I.E) equivalent to B.Tech, after 10th+Diploma in Engineering. After BTech in Engineering, you have considerably better career scope and job prospects in your respective field. After BTech, and a short job tenure, you may even opt for a MTech in Engineering or a MBA, to advance your career.
Dear aspirant,
As per your question my reply would be very simple to it. So, don't just judge on the basis of placements and don't run behind packages because there is more to it behind it.
If you do really like mechanical then there are very good nits like Trichy,Warangal ,surathkal and Jamshedpur which offers you really good offers in mechanical. Nit Jamshedpur is one such college which is great in its core placements and can be compared to the top nits. It is an underrated nit to be honest.
But if you like electronics then you should surely opt for it. You would be getting higher packages too.
Hello,
You haven't mentioned the state you belong to. Based on the information available in your profile we consider that you belong to Delhi state. Here is the previous year JEE Main cut off (AIR) for admission to DTU, Delhi in the preferred branches under OBC category
Considering the previous year cut off in round 9 you need to secure rank within 68,000 to get admission in CSE or IT. And for admission to Mechanical Engineering you need to secure a rank around 1,98,000 because the cut off is subjected to change, it may increase or decrease depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. To check the previous year cut off click on the link below

Hey Aditya,
Your question is not complete, i.e. you have not really mentioned based on what criteria you want these colleges to be sorted.
Nevertheless, going from a generic perspective i.e. quality of education, state of art lab, campus life and most importantly placements, I would give you some insights.
Now, the most important thing here should be your passion i.e. choose the branch that really inspires you because sooner or later you'll become bored taking a discipline that you don't like.
However, if you do not have any choice of branch and placement is your priority, then go for CSE.
Comparing the colleges you have shortlisted, SRM Chennai (Ramapuram / Vadapalini as you said not KTR) seems to be the best choice. However, in this case your campus life will be greatly compromised because unlike the KTR campus, Ramapuram and Vadapalini are not that good.
And if college status matters to you more then go for VIT Vellore (any day) and also the campus life there is pretty good (best amongst the ones mentioned in your list).
Keep your priorities straight and choose wisely.
Hope it helped.
