You can get home state quota for the state from where you have completed your 12th class. 

According, to previous year cut off you should score more then 155 marks in your JEE Main exam in general category other state quota to get NIT Surathkal.

According to last few year placement records, the status for NIT Kurukshetra is not that good as less percentage of students get placed with an average package of around Rs.
