Physics
Hello there,
For the GITAM University Engineering Entrance Exam (Physics section) , focusing on important topics will help you prepare efficiently. Here are the key topics in Physics that are generally important:
Mechanics
Kinematics (Motion in one and two dimensions)
Laws of Motion (Newton’s laws)
Work, Energy, and Power
Rotational Motion and Moment of Inertia
Gravitation (Universal law, acceleration due to gravity)
Properties of Matter
Elasticity
Surface Tension
Viscosity
Thermodynamics
Laws of Thermodynamics
Heat Transfer (Conduction, Convection, Radiation)
Kinetic Theory of Gases
Oscillations and Waves
Simple Harmonic Motion
Wave Motion (Types of waves, speed, frequency)
Optics
Reflection and Refraction of Light
Lens and Mirror formulas
Optical Instruments (Microscope, Telescope)
Electricity and Magnetism
Electrostatics (Coulomb’s law, Electric field, Potential)
Current Electricity (Ohm’s law, Circuits)
Magnetic Effects of Current
Electromagnetic Induction
Modern Physics
Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation (Photoelectric effect)
Atomic Models (Bohr’s model)
Nuclear Physics (Radioactivity, Nuclear Reactions)
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
If you scored 258 on GATE Physics and got an interview call, that is good news. Even if the score is low, being shortlisted for IISc Bangalore shows that your profile is suitable for evaluation further.
IISc and other leading institutes consider additional measures besides the score from the GATE. How well someone performs, what subjects they studied, what purpose they share (if necessary) and, sometimes, prior research done may be decisive. Review the main topics of Physics and have an answer ready for any research or project you have worked on.
As a result, being shortlisted for GATE indicates that your background is seen as promising, despite not getting a very high score. Do your best in the interview since it will largely affect your final chances.
Hello Mihir,
You can take your Maths improvement exam this year (July), then wait and do your Physics and Chemistry improvement exams next year. However, be aware of the following:
Always check with your school or the CBSE regional office to ensure you have the most up-to-date information and to obtain official confirmation.
Hey there! The appropriate NEET code for you would be :
CODE:02 - for candidates who have passed 10+2/HSC or it's equivalent with physics, chemistry and biology/biotech and English.
However, this is only valid if your 10+2 level included Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects.

Hello Aspirant,
No, if you have received grace marks in Physics or Chemistry in your Higher Secondary (HS) results, you will still be able to participate in the NEET counselling process as an ST candidate. For NEET counselling you need to satisfy the following requirements:
As long as you cleared the subjects and satisfy your NEET and academic eligibility, you won't get disallowed from counselling due to grace marks.
