Sajal Trivedi 6th Oct, 2023

Hello aspirant,

Obtain a four-year science degree with a physics or astronomy emphasis. You will learn important skills and be prepared for an astronomy profession with this degree. A degree specialisation in astrophysics, which combines astronomy and physics, is offered by some universities.

do a person have to do BTECH for becoming a space scientist? or he can do bsc msc and then phd ?

Ishan Katoch 14th Jan, 2024

Hi,

Becoming a space scientist typically involves obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics , or a related field. After completing a B.Sc, individuals often pursue a Master's degree (M.Sc) and then a Ph.D. for specialized research. However, various educational backgrounds, including B.Tech, are acceptable. Practical experience, internships, and networking are crucial for a successful career in space science. Ultimately, the specific path depends on your interests and career goals.

Ishan

can i apply scientist b in drdo after completing bsc hons or bsc research which are of 4 year duration

Sakshi 7th Nov, 2025

No, you cannot apply for DRDO Scientist B directly with a Bsc degree as it does not meet the master's degree requirement for science disciplines nor the Btech requirement for engineering roles.
