What is the security deposit for MBBS admission through Maharashtra State CET Cell if Im opting only for government medical colleges?

Chelsie G 19th Jul, 2025

In Maharashtra, MBBS admission under the state quota for government medical colleges does require a refundable security deposit. As per the official guidelines, candidates must pay 10,000 when they are allotted a government college seat. This deposit is separate from the registration fee and is refundable provided you report to the allotted college and comply with counselling rules.

You don’t need to worry about any additional non-refundable charges if you make the deposit and join according to the schedule. Just ensure you follow the process properly, and the security deposit will be returned after completing the admission formalities.

Abhi sonkar 20th Jul, 2025

Hello, honestly Chances in Govt. BAMS College:

Low to borderline, depending on your home state.

Better Chances In:

States like Chhattisgarh, MP, North-Eastern states via aiq some govt. colleges have lower cutoffs.

Less Likely In:

UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, WB – Govt. BAMS cutoff is usually 300–400+ for OBC.

Private BAMS Colleges:

Good chances with 244 marks.you can Consider if you want admission this year.

So,If you're aiming strictly for Govt. BAMS, your best chance is through state quota in lower cutoff states. If not, private BAMS or semi-government AYUSH colleges are open options.

i have 25 percentile in MHT CET,with army quota best college for engineering.

Abhi sonkar 20th Jul, 2025

Hello,With this rank, top and mid-tier colleges are out of reach under general merit. You can Still Get an Engineering College but

1. Low-demand branches (like civil, mechanical, production)

2. Low-tier private colleges

3. Defence quota helps slightly  but not enough to get into top colleges with this percentile.

Im from Bangladesh but currently studying B.Tech in CSE(5th sem). So to give GATE exam do I need to go back to Bangladesh and attend the exam or I can give the exam here?

Chelsie G 21st Jul, 2025

If you're from Bangladesh and currently studying B.Tech in CSE in India, you can appear for the GATE exam in India itself. You don’t need to go back to Bangladesh to write the exam.

Since you're already studying at an Indian institute, you are considered a foreign national studying in India, and you’re allowed to write GATE just like Indian students. You can apply online, choose your exam center in India, and write it here.

Just make sure to have the required documents ready like your valid ID proof, passport or student visa (if asked), and eligibility proof like your college ID or certificate, Everything else in the GATE process remains the same.
