Question : Comprehension: Read the following passage and answer the questions given after it. The severe cyclonic storm, Nisarga, which made landfall south of Alibag in Maharashtra’s Raigad district on Wednesday at 11.30 a.m. is an indication of an increasing frequency of severe cyclones developing in the Arabian Sea in the past decade, a trend that studies have linked to climate change. In the past two years, there have been seven cyclones in the Arabian Sea, though, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the ratio of cyclones in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal — which just witnessed the destructive cyclone Amphan on May 21 — is 1:4. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) last year came out with a special report, Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate, in which it said that extreme rainfall and extreme sea level events associated with some tropical cyclones are being seen to have a cascading impact on coastal areas. “There is emerging evidence for an increase in the annual global proportion of Category 4 or 5 tropical cyclones in recent decades,” the IPCC report had said. A category 4 cyclone has a wind speed of 209-251 kmph, and is referred to as an extremely severe cyclonic storm, while a category 5 cyclone has a wind speed of more than 252 kmph, and is referred to as a super cyclone. The IPCC report refers to a 2017 study led by the Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences Program, Princeton University, USA, which found that in 2014 and 2015, post-monsoon extremely severe cyclonic storms (ESCS) were first observed over the Arabian Sea causing widespread damage. The study had concluded that climate change had led to an increase in the occurrence of ESCSs in the Arabian Sea.“Our research suggests that cyclones would be more frequent during the post-monsoon season (October-December) by a series of climate model simulations. However, we didn’t find any significant changes in cyclone activity during the pre-monsoon (April-June) season through the climate simulations. It is very difficult to identify if a cyclone (like Nisarga) is generated in line with climate change,” said Hiroyuki Murakami, the lead author of the study. “Coastal hazards will be exacerbated by an increase in the average intensity, magnitude of storm surge, rising mean sea levels and precipitation rates of tropical cyclones,” the IPCC report further stated. Question: Which of the following is a category 4 cyclone?
Option 1: One with a wind speed of 209–251 kmph
Option 2: One with a wind speed of less than 150 kmph
Option 3: One with a wind speed of more than 252 kmph
Option 4: One with a wind speed of 150-208 kmph
Correct Answer: One with a wind speed of 209–251 kmph
Solution : The right choice is the first option.
According to the given passage, a Category 4 cyclone is defined by its wind speed, which ranges from 209 to 251 kilometres per hour. This classification is part of the

Question : Directions: Select the correct mirror image of the given figure when the mirror is placed at MN as shown below.
Option 1:
Option 2:
Option 3:
Option 4:
Correct Answer:
Solution : As per the mirror image properties, closer things appear closer to the mirror in the reflection. Here, according to the information provided, the mirror is placed on the right side of the figure (on line MN). So, the left side of the reflected image will appear
Question : Directions: If A stands for ÷, B stands for ×, C stands for + and D stands for –, what will come in place of the question mark (?) in the following equation? 13 C 27 A 3 B 8 D 12 = ?
Option 1: 71
Option 2: 64
Option 3: 73
Option 4: 69
Correct Answer: 73
Solution : Given: A stands for ÷, B stands for ×, C stands for + and D stands for – 13 C 27 A 3 B 8 D 12 = ?
After replacing the letters with mathematical symbols, the equation is as follows – = 13 +
Question : In a school, 391 boys and 323 girls have been divided into the largest possible equal classes, so that each class of boys numbers the same as each class of girls. What is the number of classes?
Option 1: 23
Option 2: 19
Option 3: 42
Option 4: 17
Correct Answer: 42
Solution : Given: 391 Boys and 323 Girls in the class. Prime factors of 391 = (17 × 23) Prime factors of 323 = (17 × 19) HCF of (391, 323) = 17 The largest possible equal number of students in each class = 17 Now, find
Question : According to the archaeologists, in Harappan cities, the part to the west was smaller and higher and was known as ______.
Option 1: citadel
Option 2: olympus
Option 3: lower town
Option 4: colosseum

Question : From a solid cylindrical wooden block of height 18 cm and radius 7.5 cm, a conical cavity of the same height and radius is taken out. What is the total surface area (in cm2) of the remaining solid?
Option 1: $270 \pi$
Option 2: $416.25 \pi$
Option 3: $326.25 \pi$
Option 4: $472.5 \pi$
Correct Answer: $472.5 \pi$
Solution : According to the question ⇒ Area of base = πr2 Now, ⇒ Slant height, $l=\sqrt{h^{2}+r^{2}}=\sqrt{18^{2} + 7.5^{2}}=\sqrt{324 + 56.25}=\sqrt{380.25} = 19.5$ The curved surface of the cone = πrl = $π × 7.5 × 19.5$ = $146.25 π$ The surface area of the
Question : R wants to deposit Rs. 80,000 in the bank for a year. For his account, the bank gives 12% simple annual interest but charges Rs. 3,000 as a processing fee. What would be his percentage earnings in the account?
Option 1: 8.75%
Option 2: 9%
Option 3: 8.5%
Option 4: 8.25%
Correct Answer: 8.25%
Solution : Simple interest = $\frac{\text{Principal × Rate × Time}}{100}$ Simple interest on Rs. 80000 in 1 year at the rate of 12% $=\frac{80000 × 12 × 1}{100} = 9600$ The bank takes Rs. 3000 as a processing charge. So, net profit for R = (9600 –
