100 marks chem ,physicsandmaths
Hi Chandan,
Your emphatic zeal for bracing yourself for this monstrous task is indeed commendable. Though on first look this seems next to impossible but impossible is just a way saying “I ’M POSSIBLE”.
Let me highlight some subject-wise tips which would facilitate you to brush up your concepts and go for a fast track revision:-
- Physics- Go through all the intext examples given in the NCERT textbook and have a look at key diagrams and graphs . Arihant’s CBSE past year papers book is extremely handy as it categorizes past year questions topic-wise along with a short list of essential formulae, derivations, and definitions which enables quick revision of formulae and useful concepts. I encourage you to pick up a couple of problems from each sub-topic to get used to them. Never forget mentioning units in the answers and always highlight essential value points to make your answer script representable.
- Chemistry- NCERT book is the thumb rule. For physical chemistry, go for a brief revision of the formulae so as to be able to attempt numerical (practice a few of them as well as sometimes only knowing the formula might not work and some conceptual knowledge might also be required). Theory questions from this topic can be studied from Arihant’s CBSE past year papers as such questions remain all the same every year. For inorganic, just go through some essential reactions, structures and all the in-text examples and exercise questions (if you don’t understand their concept ask your teacher or friends or simply mug them up as these are usually one-line answers, though I highly discourage the latter option). I guarantee 80% of the questions in inorganic will be direct lifts from the NCERT book. For organic name reactions, conversions, distinguishing tests and questions on identifying compounds A, B, C, D, E based on some chain of tests are important.
- Mathematics- Now this is a subject which requires less of memorization and more of practice. Start by doing only the really important and probable questions from the NCERT textbook. All the questions from the miscellaneous section are inevitable since some questions in the exams are expected to be exactly identical to these. If you are left with time try solving past year CBSE papers to give you an idea of what questions to anticipate in the exam.
Although it is still not late to commence as a sincere student, one must not leave things for the eleventh hour. Apart from these try not to make silly calculation mistakes in the exam and plan adequately before answering a question.
Good Luck!
