Hope you are doing great,
To begin, you must pass your 12th grade in PCM (science) with at least a 60%. Then apply to the IMU (Indian Maritime University) and choose the DNS (diploma in nautical science) course, which is designed specifically for deck personnel. After passing that, you must attend counselling in order to be assigned to a DNS institute based on your rank in (IMU). You may choose a course duration of one year to three years, but I believe one year is preferable. So, finish your course, get your 3 year degree/1 year diploma, and sail as a deck cadet.
