12 results plays any role in getting admission in college

Yes definitely 12th boards has a big role for admission in any college.For IITs/NITs/IIITs a student have to secure at least 75% in boards.For admission in private engineering colleges 60-65% in 12th boards is more than enough.......For admissions in bsc/bba/bca you must have 60%+ in boards......Also some colleges gives admission directly through 12th board exam like DU,BIT(for bca and bba),Chandigarh university.....and many more.....hope this helps!

Yes, the results of 12th play a good role in getting any admission. To get a good college the score should be above average and these results even have their role when you are going for your jobs and all. They do check the score of your 10th,12th and graduation. So, it's better to have a good score. This will not cause any complications further when you go in search of jobs because they have their criteria for selections.
